Repopulating the Air Nomads

Is this possible, or is Aang truly the last airbender?

If Aang and Katara had kids would they be water or air benders....? That's what I've always wondered...

well that's a good question, and i have theories about this... and it will take me time to type them... haha

it all goes into the genes and reccesive and such, but this is for a different debate.

Could Appa teach Aangs kids like the sky bisons did originally? Or has the human race exceeded the time when they were open minded enough to learn this, Toph would counteract this, but as Toph had never seen or expirienced anything (by means of her parents) so that could be recountered.

If The Giant Lion Turtl could teach aang energy bending by means of transporting his own energy... then could aang use this new power to give Airbending abilities to others? Like the refugees int he air temple?

Maybe they will have twins, one will be a airbender and one a waterbender.
But it just depends on genes, and who knows, they might not be blessed with bending powers...they might not even have kids because they would be afraid of putting them at risk in case more enemies came.

I think that is a possibility, that they wouldn't have kids, but i think Katara would want to, knowing that they are safe with Aang, and that Aang wouldn't second guess because he does love Katara.

I know, but you have to think, Katara could be the type to worry about her kids safety.

yes but supposedly Aang's son had a daughter who was the avatar. i just looked it up, and that's what Mike and Brian said. So Aang son is teaching Aang's granddaughter airbending

I'm really curious about it. I doubt it will be as good as the first one, but I think it is still worth watching.

I think that if Aang and Katara do have kids there is a pretty good chance that the air nomads may be repopulated, but, like you all have said, it all depends on the genes.

I think it's really amusing how 1, we said that the nomads couldn't repopulate. 2, we said that the idea of them hiding somewhere was silly and odd, and 3, someone brought up the idea of kataang twins a water bender and an air bender...
