Sometimes you have many projects you want to do.
For me I have four I'm working on.
So anyone else juggle projects? I can help you with this if you'd like

message 2: by JC (new)

JC (ainathiel) I do it all the time. Sometimes I have to write down a project so that I can continue work on the current project. I usually have three or four stories with me everyday; I don't have a schedule writing time so any free time I get I try to use it.

Emilie (mrslestatdelioncourt) | 301 comments Mod
I do something similar. I keep folders on my computer or separate spirals for each story and pick it up when i have inspiration

message 4: by JC (new)

JC (ainathiel) It generally means that there is always something to do. However it can burn you out as well. I try not to let too many new ideas take over, so that I can complete the great ones I have started with.

message 5: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm horrible with new ideas. I know which one's which, but I can never decide between them!

Emilie (mrslestatdelioncourt) | 301 comments Mod
I compartmentalize everything and some stories take priority over others.

message 7: by JC (new)

JC (ainathiel) I agree with you Emilianna, I do the same. Some ideas go into the to be expanded later file.

message 8: by [deleted user] (new)

I always feel like I don't have enough time though, and that if I don't write it NOW then I never will :/

message 9: by Isabell (new)

Isabell Vasalus (Hecksithia) | 16 comments I have my blog and my diary alongside my massive many projects project Hecksithia which is a hard thing to explain. Hecksithia is my baby and it is a couple of things, but basically I have trouble just focusing on one story so I am writing an umpteen of stories in the same world along with their history and their culture. I have written stories about what they tell their kids to get them to behave and I have written their legends. I have written their geography and reshaped their world so many times. It is kind of odd.

Emilie (mrslestatdelioncourt) | 301 comments Mod
Odd?
Nah.
But wow you get so involved that's awesome

message 11: by [deleted user] (new)

Lol I like to plot everything out, buuuut usually I never stick to what I plan.

message 12: by Alexa (new)

Alexa i have a story all planned out but i can never just down and write it. i'll spend a few hours writing and then weeks will pass and i don't. such a bad habbit.

message 13: by Emilie, La Scriba Bella (new)

Emilie (mrslestatdelioncourt) | 301 comments Mod
don't worry honey i do that all the time

message 14: by [deleted user] (new)

Lol I have to force myself to write. If I counted on inspiration to pull me through, I'd only write one week out of the whole year.

Emilie (mrslestatdelioncourt) | 301 comments Mod

message 16: by [deleted user] (new)

Lovely lol.

message 17: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm just getting back into my school year writing groove. I've figured out which classes I can write through and which ones that I need to pay attention in.

Emilie (mrslestatdelioncourt) | 301 comments Mod
You'll do it

message 21: by [deleted user] (new)

I wish I could figure it out faster. Get used to things faster. I work every day through saturday. They're shorter shifts, but it's still... five days in a row...

Umm idk... They're okay. There's a couple that I really like, and the others are alright... No one's mean or anything.

Yay! Warn them : if they're mean to you your crazy-white-chick-balls-to-the-walls cousin will come and kick their butts!

message 43: by Emilie, La Scriba Bella (new)

Emilie (mrslestatdelioncourt) | 301 comments Mod
Hahaha! Yah, especially when someone comes between me and my peeps.
any way, music!

I would suggest make a soundtrack for your book. I love doing stuff like that.

message 44: by [deleted user] (new)

I've never done that before. When I listen to music while I write, I don't pay attention to the words. I mostly use it as a tool to block out everything else so that it is just me and my book.

message 45: by [deleted user] (new)

Megan wrote: "I've never done that before. When I listen to music while I write, I don't pay attention to the words. I mostly use it as a tool to block out everything else so that it is just me and my book."

Same here! I listen to music when I'm only brainstorming.

Emilie (mrslestatdelioncourt) | 301 comments Mod
The soundtrack isn't really for you to listen to, its a tool. Use the songs to set a tone for a character or a scene. Assign music to your story and get to know it on a new level.
You don't have to listen the playlist while you write, just have it down somewhere and play it while you brainstorm if you want. Or just think about the songs in relation to your story.

Musical Writing/ Brainstorming Exercise

You can do this two ways.

1. Put your music library on Shuffle and use that song to answer the question.
OR
2. Think of a song and use it to answer the question
Way 2 is the better choice, Way 1 is just funny. And if there is more than one song that answers the questions, use them all.

1. A song that describes the tone/mood of your story
2. A song that sums up your main character(s)
3. A song that describes your happiest scene
4. A song that describes your saddest scene
5. A song that describes your angriest scene
6. A song that describes your most intense scene
7. A song that describes your *insert emotion here* scene (this can go on for as many emotions/ scenarios as you want)
8. A song that depicts your main characters’ greatest fear
9. A song that depicts your main characters’ greatest dream
10. A song that sums up the story.

There are more scenarios that can go here, but these ten are the ones I use most often. I also assign songs to certain scenes. But I’ll leave that up to you.
Happy brainstorming!

This looks really cool. I like it. I think I will definitely try this. I'm currently working on a lab report that's due on Monday. But I'm almost done. I hate writing for school. It's so boring. If only I could sneak something entertaining into it. But I need an A and I have a feeling that adding a really epic fight scene to my lab report would not give me the results that I want.

But it would be colorful
