message 3: by James Cox, (new)

James Cox, (jamesva) | 201 comments We have a new kitten. It vaporized in our horse pasture. My dad, who is not good with cats, tried to nudge them away with a stick. His sister is hiding in the woods. We will look tomorrow. The boy kitten's name is Acer, after one of our adolescent cats, Ace. If you have read any Felix's World entries, you may of heard about him. If the girl kitten shows up, we will name her Isabelle, after our rambunctious puppy. I will now feature Acer's World every weekend.

James Cox, (jamesva) | 201 comments From the maker of Felix's World...

Acer's World (Premiere)

Acer is my new black kitten. He showed up very skinny. He gobbled up two small plates of food. His sister is missing. (Read Above) We will look for her tomorrow. If we find her, I will name her Isabelle. So everyone out there cross your fingers and pray that we find his sister.

James Cox, (jamesva) | 201 comments Ok... here is a journal I wrote in school.

My Bike

At Christmas 2009, my parents got me a mountain bike. I was sick, and couldn't ride it for a few days.

But when I was better, it was a dream. It was a cold, muddy, windy day, after a snow melt, yet that bike didn't care. It shot down that winding, muddy path in the blustery wind like it was gently rolling down a freshly paved road on a warm, sunny day. I felt as if I was one with the bike. I could fell the wind whipping around me. I could steer and brake with precision, change gears in a second, you just have to feel it to know what I'm talking about.

It is now an old bike, with only one working brake, but I can remember that moment like I was experiencing it all over again.

James Cox, (jamesva) | 201 comments Rescuing Cats (A True Story)
by James

I rescue cats! I have rescued three cats in the past two years: Catti, Louise, and Sue. Here are their stories:

Part 1: Catti
One spring day in 2009, I was enjoying a ride on my horse. "Here, Cat-Cat-Cattey," I called. I kept calling her "Cattey" and the name stuck.

I set up an open carrier for her with food and water. I bedded it with straw. The open door was so she could come and go as she pleased.

It was gettingclose to her kittens' birth. I scrubbed a big carrier. In it, I put a puppy training pad, kitten chow, water, a litter box, a towel, and, of course, her.

Two weeks later, on July 20, she had four beautiful healthy kittens. their names are Felix, Combo, Callie, and Ace. The kittens and their mother, Catti, still live with us. In fact, the kittens are one and a half years old.

Part 2: Louise and Sue
One cold September evening in 2010, my dad and I were rolling an enourmus, round hay bale through the pasture. We had just covered it when two black kittens wandered over. My dad tried to shoo them away, but only one ran away. (The one who stayed being Louise.)

My mom and I looked at the kitten. It was sick and lonely. We then decided that we must find that kitten! The next morning we had no luck. Nor that afternoon, or evening. On Sunday evening, we were about to give up. We were going to do one last search.

A horde of our neighbor's nusiance dogs came over. In the middle, there was a black and white kitten matching the one who ran away. She darted behind a tree, then i heard rustling. She made a single high-pitched "mew". I looked around in frustration. Then I glanced down. What was that? I thought as I quickly looked back. She was slithering around my feet that way most cats do.

I took her inside. the other kitten perked up almost instantly. I set them up the same carrier Catti used.

Those kittens are now healthy. Louise is a good friend of Ace, while Sue tends to play with her sister or alone.

These are the stories of the kittens I rescued.
their names are Catti, Louise, and Sue. this concludes their story of being rescued.
