Jessie | 142 comments Because it is driving me insane and I cannot wait until I am home to check....

When do Alcide and Sookie have their little dating courtship? Is it before Book 4 when Eric gets his Amnesia? There are super spoilers here so don't read any further if you have not finished the books.

I am so confused by the show vs the books that I am lost and I also read these so long ago. Does she actually date him in Book 3 after the Bill betrayal??? I know that she kills Debbie in book 4 and Eric burries the body for her...blah time sequence is all out of whack!

Jayme(the ghost reader) (jaymeiltheghostreader) Sookie and Alcide were briefly together before Eric's amnesia but I wouldn't really call Alcide and Sookie dating.

Sandra (sandram1967) | 67 comments I thought it was book 3. Book 4 starts out with Eric walking down the road nude.

Cary (Vortigern) It was Hadleys big mouth that was really the big betrayal. The little ho told her lover Sophie Anne she had a kid and a cousin that could read minds. The Queen being curious sent her area 5 investigator Bill to check on it. Alcide was just Sookies protector, and escort. They made eyes at each other and were good friends in Jackson. But after that Alcide was to involved in his own problems trying to gain control of the pack.

Jessie | 142 comments Yes Cary, but I don't think that we ever discover that Hadley was behind it all in the books.

I still remember that Sookie and Alcide dated before Debbie got killed so I think that it was in book 3. Remember they try to go out on a real date (Dinner and a show I think) and they end up getting attacked...they ended up calling it quits and stopped trying and I am quite sure that was before Eric "lost his memory".

Colette | 15 comments Sookie and Alcide never actually dated. In book 3 they pretended to date. Then I believe in Book 4 they pretended to be engaged when they got caught in the store while searching for clues about the witches and her missing brother.

Also later in Book 4 Debbie and Alcide briefly get back together before he abjures her.

Cary (Vortigern) Yup that is what peaked the Queens interest. Hadley mentioned it thinking it would be no big deal. As for Alcide he was to goofy over Debbie Pelt. There are lots of websites that discuss issues in the books. One site I found online said. Did Alcide and Sookie ever date? Answer: They kissed a couple times but never dated. I think Alcide and Sookie go to The Hair of the Dog. But it is was business. Also when Colonel Flood dies in Dead as a Doornail. Alcide takes Sookie as his date to the funeral, but only to use her mind reading powers to see if Patrick Furnan will cheat in the Pack Leader contest. He does not tell Sookie about this which kind of miffs her. If you haven't read the books in a long time it is easy to be confussed by the show. There are synopsis links that help you remember the order and happenings of the books:)

Jessie | 142 comments I may be confusing that "date night" with Quinn. UGH...

I am going on a 6 hour flight on Friday. Trying to decide if I bring new books I have yet to read or if I re-read some of this series. Oh the decisions...

Jayme(the ghost reader) (jaymeiltheghostreader) That date night was with Quinn

Anyone can start a new thread in the discussion group; I do it all the time. :-)

Just go to the group's home page; on the header bar that reads "discussion board", you'll find a link on the right-hand side that reads, "new".

Just select that link, and it's pretty self-explanatory from there.

Cary (Vortigern) To start a post you just pick a topic. Like what is up with Sam? As far as books go. Nicholas Sparks is straight up Romance. Read more kinds of books. Read some H.P.Lovecraft if you like horror and interdemensional devil cult(nothing like Amittyville Horror). I like the great classics myself. Charles Dickens, and such. For Christ sakes if you like vampire stories and haven't read Carmilla and Dracula. Type in Carmilla on the browzer. There are at least three online copies listed. :)
