wow!!!!!!!!!
this endign was amazing.
Spoiler alert!!!

i do not think that the way that Katniss lost everything was good though. her father dies before the first book. then her sister dies in Mockingajy. at the end Gale is not talking to her and Prim is also dead. Her mother decides to go live in district four instead of returing home with her. is it fair to make katniss lose almost everything important to her? she gets peeta which i am happy about though. i just wish that she could have stayed friends with Gale. while i agree with her choice to kill President Coin insead of Snow i think that seh should have still been able to kill snoiw if she wanted to. also i thnk that katniss should have become president. finally i am glad that she had children. now that she is in a country wehere they will not be in danger of fighting to the death i think that she will be a good mother. also i did not like how they dexcided to have a hunger games for the capitaol people. didnt tehy decide that the hunger games where wrong? why would the y then decide to inflict that pain on other people even if they did awful things. they would not be punsihing the people. they would be punishing tyhe children. i thought that this book was really good and am sad that it is over.

cannot wait to hear what you have to sya!

yeah and she was pregnant!!

True Love Forever (trueloveforever) | 44 comments I was really dissapointed in this book. it felt detached and not really in the moment, like time was just floating by. I didn't like that Finnick was killed, it didn'y prove any point or make anything important for him to die. I don't like how she really didn't amke a choice about Gale or Peeta and that they didn't really fight for her. She just kind of conviently got Peeta in the end by default. The first two books were so good, they felt like you were on the edge of your seat, suspensful, emotional, she sacrifices herself for her sister, then dealing with having to fight to the death. And hte corruption of the system and the capitol. I wish that the author woul d ahve had Katniss become more independent and stand up for herself when i instead I felt the opposite happen. here was a chance for her to really make a difference by standing up for what she believed was right and instead she became a pawn for everyone. And what was the point of her sister sying. Yes, i get that author was trying to say thatthis is what war does to you, blah, blah, blah, but the first two books felt different and then she throws in this depressing reality. Not a very nice HEA even though katniss ends up with Peeta i felt disssatisfied...

Amina (journalistam) Finally I find someone who agrees wid me... The ending was so depressing that, I didn't beleive (i'm still not!) that it was really and truly the ending. I was waiting for someone to say she had made a mistake and Prim was alive. I was waiting to find Finnick somewhere, saying he got away frum the mutts. I waited for Gale to come back to Katniss. I waited for her mom to come live wid her... And I knew I was waiting for nothing. The other two books, though sad, end happily enuff, freinds and family intact. But this? I mean, when we read novels we want a good ending no matter how much we go blabbing that this is just extreme. We WANT the ending to be good, for the heroine to get her hero, for her to choose, to finally live in harmony wid her family.
No doubt, I love this series, but the ending sucks because now I feel like m drowning. IT.IS.SO.DEPRESSING.

that just made it worse!!! poor baby

True Love Forever (trueloveforever) | 44 comments She wasn't stright in the head either and finnick helped to ground her. In a way a part of him lives on, but how sad for the child and her.

message 10: by Amina (new)

Amina (journalistam) Uh-huh, she's mad, she just got Finnick after ALL that and hten he dies. Jheez, suzanne is so horrid!

i think that in this book so many people die who shoundnt have died! katniss- the person who was supposed to be invincible and the hero of the story loses everyone but peeta who is important to her. i h8ted how he lost alll of his nice memories! i think that hte ending needed a little bit of happiness. even saying that she had children which should have been nice was followed with saying how much she hated being pregnant!!!

message 13: by Flameholly161 (new)

Flameholly161 | 20 comments she was happy about her children though, and peeta regained some of his memories

message 14: by Amina (new)

Amina (journalistam) yeh peeta was fine at the end... but Gale? I wanted to scream my head off wen he disappeared. There shld defo b more happiness, it's to depressing, the ending =[

Flameholly161 | 20 comments i hated gale in the end

message 16: by Amina (new)

Amina (journalistam) not his fault. i wld do the same thing.

But listen, I don't get sum things. First, why didn't gale shoot her, was he taking revenge bcoz she didn't wen he was caught? Secondly, same wiv Peeta, why didn't he let her have the nightlock? Thridly, is this world, the WHOLE world or is it a country. If so, y didn't the district ppl go to another country?

message 17: by Roza (new)

Roza | 216 comments Mod
i agrree with you here is the rest of the world and y didnt anyone help them???? i htink that gale could have at least somehow been with katniss

message 18: by Amina (new)

Amina (journalistam) wat abt my other questions... abt gale n peeta? y dnt they kill her wen she shoots president coin. they don't knw... maybe she wld've been tortured.

True Love Forever (trueloveforever) | 44 comments There are some unanswered questions still, you guys are right. What happend with Gale and why didn't he help/shoot her, why did he just kind of give up on her? We never learn is there is any other people outside of Panem. Interesting idea. Everyone kind of abandoned her except for Haymitch. maybe he understands what she is going through a little. Even being with Peeta at teh end wasn't really a passionate decision. it just kind of fell together over time it seems like. And how could her mom leave her. It seemed like they should have been together somehow. I know Katniss almost hated her there for a while but after everyhting they went through you would think that relationship would grow again.

message 20: by Flameholly161 (new)

Flameholly161 | 20 comments nah i always expected her mom to either die or go away, i was just waiting for it to happen, and the reason gale didnt kill katniss is because gale wasnt there, he couldnt of helped her if he wanted to i think they explained at some point that there is nothing outside of panem

message 21: by Amina (new)

Amina (journalistam) no mention of anythin outside Panem. Yes, maybe Gale wasn't there, but y did he go in the first place? And it's tru, Peeta was the only one left so it jus fell into place then living togheter n stuff

message 22: by Flameholly161 (new)

Flameholly161 | 20 comments i think they would've ended up together anyway

message 29: by Michelle (new)

Michelle | 41 comments i do feel like the ending was pretty sad, but in the end katniss killed the right person, there was no point to fight over katniss because in the end she wouldve chosen peeta cause gale is too much like her and after all of that war and killing nobody needed to fight anymore. Snow was a punk but if you really think about it killing coin was the same as killing snow. they are both heartless people. I actually feel like prims death was pointless i mean the war was basically over, it really wasnt significant to the ending except more loss, and it was just plain sad. im not gonna lie i was extremely pissed when finnick died he was like my fav character!!! wtf?! like it happened so quickly in the book i mustve skipped over it and realized he was dead in the next chapter its like i blocked out that he diedi was so sad. :(( im so glad there was a group for this book i neeed to talk bout it soo bad.

yeah i always wondered throughout the whole series like what became of the rest of the world or the rest of america cause when i picture Panem i only think of from like the east side of the US and i think peeta didnt kill katniss when she killed coin was because there was actully nobody else alive to torture her i mean she just killed coin and snow is basically dead where he sat. who else is left to torture her but herself. an before i even turned the page it was like i knew her intentions were to kill coin. i would have

message 31: by Amina (new)

Amina (journalistam) killing Prim was pointless. the book wld've been perfect if gale has stayed frends wid Katniss n Prim hadn't died. the rest is ok.

message 42: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca On the subject of Gale, I read somewhere that the reason he left for District 2 was because they both mutually knew (without having to say it aloud, since they communicate so easily) that their relationship was over, because of him being distantly connected to Prim's death. They just...knew. I sort of agree with this theory.

I understand why Katniss and Peeta had to be together at the end of the book. I do. But it doesn't change how I wished things would have ended up . . .

True Love Forever (trueloveforever) | 44 comments or is that Gale finally realized she really didn't love him that way. I don't think katniss knew for herself what she really wanted. It seemed like her and Peeta just kind of ended up together. Not like she made a consious choice. Gale mentioned once to her that she only showed she cared about him when he was in danger. What little she was willing to give wasn't enough. So he kind of moved on with his life.
But they never really have a conversation about their relationship. He just kind of leaves her.

message 44: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca I know! That's the thing that irritates me more than anything else. Would it have been so hord for SC to write a short scene where they said goodbye? Sigh...

True Love Forever (trueloveforever) | 44 comments He was supposed to be her best friend etc. And no one was really there for her at the end. Not Gale, Peeta or her mom, Just that doctor and Haymitch if i am remembering right. I realize Peeta was still trying to probably recoer from his own experiences.

message 46: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca Yeah. Haymitch, of all people, the only one with her at the end . . . I wouldn't have predicted that. ;)

True Love Forever (trueloveforever) | 44 comments It kind of makes sense since he has been through so much like her, but still... Where are these guys that care so much for her and her mom even.

message 48: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca Yeah. I feel so sorry for Katniss. Even though she ended up with Peeta and got to have children, she was still very physically, mentally and emotionally scarred.

True Love Forever (trueloveforever) | 44 comments I understand the author's right to show these kind of htings, but what about he triumphant of the human spirit and over coming obstacles in our lives. I wanted to see Katniss stand up for what she believed in against the capitol and even distrcit 13. I felt like she wa used as a pawn between the two. She basically had the world at her feet adn it seemed wasted. Her chance to make a difference and become a stronger person and grow. Instead she just seemed lost adn lonely.

message 50: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca Yeah. That's how it was with both sides - if you saw something useful, use it. If you see something bad, destroy it. Katniss was just a pawn to Coin - the face of the rebellion, the girl who was on fire. Wasted.
