SO what JD movies have you seen?

LovelyVamp (sweeteyes) | 12 comments All of the pirate movies..they are what got me hooked on Johnny Depp. I love him in edward scissor hands. and he was sooooo amazing as the mad hatter and Sweeney Todd. I loved his voice over as the character Victor in Corpse Bride. I know i have seen and heard more of him but that is all that comes to mind right now.

he is amazing in all of his movies. I think i liked his acting in POTC movies the best and then sweeney todd. edward scissorhands was good and he had a wicked irish accent for the mad hatter. i think i am kind of young. I saw the first pirate movie at a sleepover when i was like 7. I had no idea who he was before that. I fell in love with him in 21 Jump street. since that i have decided to watch all of his movies i have 14 and two halfs left, if only i had more time.

rajni, welcome. What have you seen him in?

message 10: by LovelyVamp (new)

LovelyVamp (sweeteyes) | 12 comments How old are you?? I need to see 21 Jump Street then. lol. My favorite performances of his are the pirate movies, Sweeney Todd, and Sleepy Hallow.

Robin (goodreadscomtriviagoddessl) I did also like him on 21 Jump Street, he was an apple cheeked young thing then, he was also good in Edward Scissorhands, Chocolat, finding neverland, benny and joon never have seen the pirates even though he was filming in Hawaii.

message 13: by Bronwyn (new)

Bronwyn (naturallyredandright) | 32 comments Mod
omg another person!!! that brings us up to 4 yippee!!!!

so, r those all the jd movies you have seen or are there more? and which was your favorite.

he was great in the pirates the first was the best. you should watch it.

message 14: by Robin (new)

Robin (goodreadscomtriviagoddessl) I did see alice in wonderland so maybe i am not so much a fan as I like the way he looks, he is very appealing.

message 15: by Bronwyn (new)

Bronwyn (naturallyredandright) | 32 comments Mod
that he most certainly is

message 16: by Robin (new)

Robin (goodreadscomtriviagoddessl) Finding Neverland was also good. I cried like a baby at the end.

message 17: by LovelyVamp (new)

LovelyVamp (sweeteyes) | 12 comments How can Sweeney Todd be your fav (Kira) and Sleepy Hallow be gross?? lol. YES Johnny is Waaaaaaay appealing Robin! Finding Neverland was a sad ending!! I cried sooo much.

message 18: by Robin (new)

Robin (goodreadscomtriviagoddessl) But it was a magical moment when the mother entered the magical world that Jim brought to life through his play, but then she went away, and I felt bad for Peter.

message 19: by LovelyVamp (new)

LovelyVamp (sweeteyes) | 12 comments Oh i know!! It was amazing!! the look on her face was pure amazment. but when she walks into the magical land of Neverland and fades into seeing her grave..ugh my heart broke for her poor boys.

message 20: by Robin (new)

Robin (goodreadscomtriviagoddessl) Yes, and that Peter had such emotions for a little one. They should have a finding Neverland again, a sequel to show the boys growing up and what this did to shape their lives. Edward Scissorhands was good too he played an outcast since he had scissorhands, that movie got to me also.

message 21: by Bronwyn (new)

Bronwyn (naturallyredandright) | 32 comments Mod
well lovely i dont know to me sweeney todd isnt gross. it is soo fake, and it is a musical (wow can johnny sing)!!! sleepy hallow like with the bug crawling out of the guys neck, or with the regrowing of the face (the skin and organs) i was like ewwww, hurry up, finnish, ewww. i thought that the only thing that salvaged the movie was jd's amazing performance.

message 22: by LovelyVamp (new)

LovelyVamp (sweeteyes) | 12 comments Yeah the boy who played peter is a very talented actor. Have you seen him in August Rush??? OMC!! Good Movie!! Edward Scissorhands was a good movie. He captured the vulnerable and pure Quality that the character called for.

message 23: by Robin (new)

Robin (goodreadscomtriviagoddessl) Haven't seen August Rush, did see him in the Spiderwick movie, very talented. I agree about Edward he should have gotten an award for that.

message 24: by Bronwyn (new)

Bronwyn (naturallyredandright) | 32 comments Mod
I have only seen the boy in other johnny depp movies and spiderwick when he played the two brothers

message 25: by Robin (new)

Robin (goodreadscomtriviagoddessl) Yes, he did play both of the parts.

message 26: by Bronwyn (new)

Bronwyn (naturallyredandright) | 32 comments Mod
the only academy award johnny depp has gotten is a golden globe for sweeney todd. THAT IS REDICULOUS!!!!

message 27: by Robin (new)

Robin (goodreadscomtriviagoddessl) He should be given his due, he is a very talented actor.

message 28: by Bronwyn (new)

Bronwyn (naturallyredandright) | 32 comments Mod
i know right. what role did you think he did best in?

message 29: by Robin (new)

Robin (goodreadscomtriviagoddessl) I liked him in what's eating gilbert grape, I guess that movie showed more of his sensitivity, which comes across to millions of women.

Bronwyn (naturallyredandright) | 32 comments Mod

Bronwyn (naturallyredandright) | 32 comments Mod
her favorite is either catch me if you can or titanic.

message 35: by Robin (new)

Robin (goodreadscomtriviagoddessl) catch me if you can is good too. titanic is a good one also.

message 36: by Robin (new)

Robin (goodreadscomtriviagoddessl) I was on another thread and I mentioned the Benny and Joon movie with JD and the part where he had the breadsticks as feet on the forks and was skipping them on the counter, at the restaurant. Also, the same movie when he was swinging outside of Joon's hospital room. Boy Aidan Quinn was sure uptight in his role.

message 37: by Bronwyn (new)

Bronwyn (naturallyredandright) | 32 comments Mod
yes he was. i love his charlie chaplin impression it is so funny. i told my siblings that he does a better charlie chaplin then charlie chaplin does. lol. he did it as well in an episode of 21 jump street "how i saved the senetor"

message 38: by Robin (new)

Robin (goodreadscomtriviagoddessl) I never saw that one, even though I did see his series on 21 Jump.

message 39: by Bronwyn (new)

Bronwyn (naturallyredandright) | 32 comments Mod
haha really? its on youtube. all the characters tell how they saved the senetor. it was funny.

message 40: by Robin (new)

Robin (goodreadscomtriviagoddessl) must watch then thanks for the update.

message 41: by Robin (new)

Robin (goodreadscomtriviagoddessl) I did see Johnny Depp in Alice in Wonderland with Tim Burton, he was funny doing those Scottish brogues (accents), he was certainly out there as far as his character, some of his facial mannerisms reminded me of him in Edward Scissorhands.

message 42: by LovelyVamp (new)

LovelyVamp (sweeteyes) | 12 comments I liked his accents. Im a sucker for accents! And yes some of his expressions were similar to his character as Edward Scissorhands. The vulnerability was one. And the far off look when he was reminiscing of the past.......and sorry Kira and Robin that its been soo long since i have last posted. I have been busy with work. And have been soo tired!!

message 43: by Robin (new)

Robin (goodreadscomtriviagoddessl) I hear ya, same for me as well. That is the new four letter word, work!

message 44: by LovelyVamp (new)

LovelyVamp (sweeteyes) | 12 comments Seriously!! Where do you work??

message 45: by Bronwyn (new)

Bronwyn (naturallyredandright) | 32 comments Mod
i know. ive been swamped with school work. you know freshman year, even when you are being home schooled (its my first year, i am in germany and need to keep up with my american studies). it is so tiring, especially A.P. world history, and world lit. i have now finnished donnie brasco (really sad) and fear and loathing in las vegas (dont watch, really stupid!) and i rewatched the beginning of a in w his accent is soooooo sexy!!!! his in finding neverland was also amazing.

message 46: by Robin (new)

Robin (goodreadscomtriviagoddessl) LovelyVamp wrote: "Seriously!! Where do you work??"

I work at an elementary school nearby, where my daughter graduated two years ago, It is convenient to walk to and from, but Ii deal with JRK/K-6 graders in the cafeteria, on the playground. Some days are worse than others. But at least I have a job.

message 47: by LovelyVamp (new)

LovelyVamp (sweeteyes) | 12 comments (kira) Wow germany thats wow. How is it like out there?? how are you likeing freshman year? yes his finding neverland is amazing!!

message 48: by LovelyVamp (new)

LovelyVamp (sweeteyes) | 12 comments (Robin) yes just having a job is blessing. But i get that somedays are worse than others. I work at Carls Jr. Somedays are a drag. And others not soo much. What do you do at the elementary school?? It must be nice that is convenient.

message 49: by Robin (new)

Robin (goodreadscomtriviagoddessl) I help set up for breakfast in the cafeteria, then clean up after. Open kids milk cartons, do the cleaning up after. I have a split shift so, Ii come back and work for another hour and a half. Cafeteria duty also helping the kids and watching them on the back playground and the front playground. It does get exhausting at times, the kids are good though and it makes my job enjoyable. You work at Carl's Jr. Are there burgers better than MacDonalds and Burger King? Anyway, I forgot to put down Johnny Depp in Don Juan De Marco he was good in that as well.
