Marty (martyjm) | 310 comments The ones I will read for sure(although probably not until they are in mass market paperback) are the Elizabeth Bear, the David Drake, the Connie Willis and the Timothy Zahn. The rest of them I need to look at to decide.....but like so many of us I acquire books (these days mostly on the kindle) much faster than I can read them.

message 3: by Leighann (new)

Leighann (zhelenstilo) I'll be reading Blameless by Gail Carriger for sure, since I really enjoyed the first two. Not sure about any of the others, though.

Kerry (rocalisa) | 486 comments I have Cold Magic on pre-order. Otherwise there's nothing there to tempt me. I'm hanging out for the next Connie Willis, All Clear, in October and there's a whole bunch of books I want in November, so I'm trying to save up for then.

Nothing much is grabbing me this month (this is a good thing...really don't need to be buying more books right now!).

If anyone hasn't read A Fire Upon The Deep, it's one of my favorite SF books... just thought I'd put it out there that it's worth looking into :)

Ditto this for me.

Several authors I like on the list (Bear, Cornwell, Elliott) and several I'm interested in, but nothing I'll rush out and buy.

message 9: by Edward (new)

Edward Butler | 19 comments I might pick up the Marie Brennan book; I read the first one in this series, Midnight Never Come, liked it well enough to consider reading the sequel, but never quite got around to it.

Felix Gilman's new book definitely interests me. I loved Thunderer, but could never find the sequel (I'm not sure it ever got out of hardcover). I'm not so interested in the world with this one as I would be in a sequel to Thunderer, but I'll certainly keep it in mind.

Huh. Yep, that one was missing from the list. I'll add it right now.

I'll second that; Vinge's Fire Upon the Deep is a classic.
