Elaine (urbanbamboo) | 7 comments Anyone read The Passage by Justin Cronin? I wanted a break after reading Tinkers and Olive Kitteridge (loved both). Something fun and summery. The Wall Street Journal WENT ON about The Passage, as did a bunch of other respected reviewers, but I'm on page 300 and just don't get the excitement. It's completely boring, with the same old "underground bio-experiements gone horribly wrong" plot. Ugh.

Vanessa | 84 comments I haven't read it yet and I'm not sure I will (or not anytime soon.) Mainly for the reasons you mentioned--the plot already seems tired. And I'm so vamp'ed out.

(although I confess I still am glued to True Blood)

I have heard people say it's middling to good save for a boring middle section that went on too long.
