Rio (Lynne) | 29 comments FYI: Becket is on TCM 8/28.

I've never seen it, but it is about England's King Henry II appointing his best friend Archbishop of Canterbury then turning on him. I have my DVR set.

Mandy Moody | 544 comments Rio - have you watched yet? How was it?
Sounds interesting! I love Henry II, though Becket always bugged me after his appointment (I don't like martyrs!)
Anyway, I missed it on TV, but I'll bet I could get this one from the library :)

Rio (Lynne) | 29 comments Mandy, according to the TCM site it's on again Nov. 15th. I haven't watched it yet. I'll let you know.

Manuel | 85 comments If you guys like Peter O'Toole as Henry II in Becket, you should also get "Lion in Winter" (1968).

Peter O'Toole stars again as King Henry II with Katherine Hepburn as Eleanor of Aquitaine. Talk about a dysfunctional family. It got Katherine Hepburn her third Oscar.

Rio (Lynne) | 29 comments I saw that at Itunes. Only a $2.99 rental. Thanks Manuel. That one is on my list.

Mandy Moody | 544 comments Oh - I've seen Lion in Winter! It was another of my library rentals, lol!
It's WONDERFUL! My husband loved it, too.
