Percy Pigsbottom As a fairly new member of this group, I was thinking of reading some of the books which have already been covered and following the relevant discussion topic as I go along. But which ones?!

I wondered what other people's favourites were. Which ones would you recommend?

Dottie (oxymoronid) | 698 comments I have a few I really liked -- but the one that popped into my head first is the dual discussion we had of Fahrenheit 451 and Ella Minnow Pea. I'll throw in another one or two later, Miss M.

Angie | 512 comments Oooohhh... I loved Ella Minnow Pea!

Kayla | 130 comments Ella Minnow Pea was a really fun read. I have great respect for the author for being able to write so clearly even after over half the letters of the alphabet were gone.

I also really loved The Namesake when I read it a few months ago. I can't wait for discussion to start in September.

Kristel | 165 comments The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay kind of stuck to me. Would never had read it if I wasn't in the group.

The Catcher in the Rye was fantastic.

Kayla | 130 comments I started Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay about four years, but I never finished it. I thought it was good. I just wasn't in the mood for a long book. I haven't been able to put it out of my mind since, though. I really have to pick it up again sometime.

Meghan For me, the best book this club ever read was Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West. Not so much because the book itself was the best book we ever read, but we had a fantastic discussion that spanned months.

The Time Traveler's Wife was also very good. I'll have to look over the book lists though to think about my personal favorite(s).

Dottie (oxymoronid) | 698 comments I missed the Wicked discussion but would second The Time Traveler's Wife discussion as one of our more outstanding ones. I'd also agree that the discussion of The Catcher in the Rye was very good.
