Chriss | 8 comments Saturday, August 28 is Read Comics In Public Day. First annual and international, no less. Started by Brian Heater and Daily Crosshatch.

For any San Diego folks who want to hang out and read comic books, I'll be at the Starbucks next to Mysterious Galaxy bookstore (on Clairemont Mesa Blvd) from about 11:30 - 1:00.

The purpose of RCPD is to show off your love of sequential art by being seen enjoying it by strangers.

Full details about RCPD are available here.

Old-Barbarossa Every day should be RCPD...embrace your inner geek and let it out often.
In ye olden dayes new comix day used to mean a visit to Deadhead in Edinburgh and then a couple of pints of porter in Bannermans while reading the new haul of Swamp Thing etc. Live a bit more rural now though...cows and sheep don't count as public do they?
Who will be reading and where?
I will be on an Iron Crannog in the North Sea reading Just a Pilgrim.

Addie (addiemon) | 1 comments I read comics in public all the time. A friend of mine got after me for reading some smutty ones on a plane, even.

But I don't see a problem in having an excuse to celebrate comics, either :)
