Susan (susanbevans) Is it wrong of me to hope that Russell kills Nan Flannagan before Eric gets a chance to kill him? That would be extremely entertaining convienient!

Jessa ♥dhanger♥ EvilDarkSide (metalgirl80) I'm all for it, Susan. I thought Eric was going to take her head of when she called him a "Whiny Bitch". I can't believe he just stood there and took it. I wouldn't mind seeing Eric give Nan and Russell the 'True Death'...in that order.

Leslie | 73 comments Wow! Tonight's episode was crazy. Crystal isn't looking to be as innocent as she was initially making herself seem. Maybe she will be more like the book. The king has screwed all of the vampires for sure now.I am not liking Sookie's cousins story line though. The way she found out about her nephew was so rushed and weird, I wish that was more like the book. Can't wait to see what happens next week!

message 5: by Jessie (new)

Jessie | 142 comments Yeah, seems to me that Hunter was introduced WAY too early and what the heck is with Bill visiting Fairy Land??? That whole part of the story line is annoying me more than anything. I guess we were right that Sookie's zappy power is from her Fairy blood.

Russell is all sorts of Crazy huh? Yeah he has made a mess of things for all vampires. Not sure I like that since it will of course make the show take an entirely different direction....

And Franklin....I knew it!!!! Love that Jason killed him once and for all....

I know I am missing other big points, but I am sure we will get there as the discussions unfold :)

message 6: by Cary (last edited Aug 16, 2010 06:10AM) (new)

Cary (Vortigern) Eric will definitly weasel in on Sookie at some point. Sam beats a guy near to death in his own restaurant. Whoa! Ball needs to calm it down. Sam taking in his brother was a MAJOR mistake. Looks like Claudine decided to trust Bill and tell him about Sookie. I think Bill was ordered by the Queen to find out more about Hadleys kid and his abilities, and to check out Hadleys relatives. I think Bill was on a simple fact finding mission for the Queen, and fell in love with Sookie. I don't see any big betrayal in book or show. Balls writing in getting crazy. I don't know how a human vampire war can be averted after Russells TV broadcast. But the vampire league is going to have to take Russell down. Ball is just of his gourd. Oh and Hoyts new girl friend. She is an agent of the FOS. Betcha, LOL. Oh and whoever Nan Flanagans blood donor was. I wish she would be my girlfriend. Oh yeah.

I thought Franklin was dead! That threw me off. Poor Tara. That girl can't get a break. Her life is so full of violence. So unlike the book. There was a lot of boobage in last night's show. Alexander said he was very open to nudity so he needs to bust some out and equalize the nudity! I hope Hoyt and Jessica get back together. Their interaction was a great part of last night's show.

message 8: by Cary (new)

Cary (Vortigern) Well Franklins dead now. I liked Hoyt & Jessica too. The nudity for men is pretty much equal. If you think your going to see Erics piece it wont happen. Definitly HBO lets loose with the nudity. If you watch Hung the show that comes on afterwards. It has allot of nudity too. But if you think your gonah ever see how Hung Ray aka Thomas Jane is it's not going to happen. They still want it to be TV and not pornography. :)

message 9: by Jayme(the ghost reader) (last edited Aug 16, 2010 08:22AM) (new)

Jayme(the ghost reader) (jaymeiltheghostreader) Russel is definitely weird. He put Talbot's remains in a crystal vase. I was like okay that's weird. I was surprised too Eric just sat there and took the rap but then again in the end he got off pretty easy.

Summer, who in their right mind brings dolls?? to a restaurant?

Sam beating up that guy was a little weird.

Bill ending up in Fairyland was certainly a wtf moment too.

I don't forsee anything good for Jason and Crystal. She like on drugs naturally. I guess her middle name really is meth :)

I am soooo glad Lafayette has Jesus. He deserves something good in his life.

Jason killing off Franklin was definitely worth it. Wooden bullets....

message 10: by Christy (new)

Christy | 127 comments Two laugh out loud moments for me:

Andy says, "I have an ulcer so big I have coffee coming out my belly button."
Jason responds, "Can that happen?"

Russell kills the news guy by ripping out part of his spine and then goes off about how humans are not the equals of vampires and all vampires really want is to eat them and then smiles and says, "And now the weather....Tiffany?"

I loved this episode. I thought the exchanges between Eric and Pam were great. I loved Holly in this episode! I wasn't so sure I was going to when they introduced her last week, but she was really awesome. I feel really bad for Tara but dang that actress can really cry. I was kinda sad to see Franklin die, but was relieved for Tara. Loved when Hoyt exclaimed that he hated Summer. That was funny too. Poor Jess!

I have NO idea where this season is headed and I love that. Yay Allen Ball for keeping me guessing.

Jessie | 142 comments Another point I wanted to make. We have all had the debate previously and I guess it is now confimred that Arlene is having Rene's baby which is just totally creepy!!!

message 12: by Kathy (new)

Kathy (mrsworldwidewebb) I missed Alcide in this episode :( LOL I know he will be back but this episode was crazy! I loved the ending with Russel getting the dude on TV..Talk about freaking someone out..Now on to the weather...LOL

message 13: by Jessie (new)

Jessie | 142 comments Best line for me was psycho Russell: "you are not our equals, we want to eat you..."

message 14: by Jessie (new)

Jessie | 142 comments OH...Am I correct that there are only 3 more episodes of this season??? Good Lord what will we do??? LOL

I missed Alcide too. I don't know what the climax of this season is going to be since it has all strayed far far away from the books. But I think a lot of it is set up for the next season. Maybe??? Things just seem so out of sequence and it is terrible being a fan of the books because I just keep getting so confused and trying to figure things out. We don't even hear about Hunter till what, book 8ish???

And I am still wondering if they are going to make the Hot Shot peeps what they are in the books...all this meth stuff is killing me and I just hate them all!!! That change and the story line does nothing but infuriate me!

message 15: by Kathy (new)

Kathy (mrsworldwidewebb) I agree totally Jessie... They have screwed the story up to me..I can't stand the fairy scenes...We didn't know Sookie was a fairy until like book 9 or something..LOL We were kept guessing...But I agree..I don't get this thing with Crystal..Is she a werepanther or a V addict...?? I get mad too but try to keep them separated...ARE YOU SERIOUS about ONLY THREE MORE EPISODES... The durn series JUST started..LOL

message 16: by Melissa Rochelle (new)

Melissa Rochelle (melissarochelle) The fairyland scenes are so weird. How does some dreamy fairyland make more sense than Claudine just appearing? I don't get it. Every time one of those scenes occurs, I cringe because they're just embarrassing.

message 17: by Jessie (new)

Jessie | 142 comments LOL Kathy, ueah, if you look at the episode guide ont the vault it only shows 12 episodes this season...not sure if that is 100% acurate or not, but....

And the Fairy thing is so outta whack for me. When Bill woke up and opened his door thing I actually said outloud "Really???? Now Bill is in Fairy Land???" Claudine always came into the real world...WTF???

Sandra (sandram1967) | 67 comments Jessie wrote: "Another point I wanted to make. We have all had the debate previously and I guess it is now confimred that Arlene is having Rene's baby which is just totally creepy!!!"

I figured that because we were talking about how the time frame is actually a lot slower than most think. I mean Andy had his cast on for several episodes last season and had it on for several episodes this season. I wonder what Arlene will do since she doesn't want the baby figuring it will be evil too.

I did like part of Russell's speech when he raves on about how we want all our fancy materialistic items while there are genocides going on. We truly do live off the backs of the poor. I know many don't believe this, but I took two courses in college that this was all we talked about. It was sickening to learn how selfish we truly are. Also, how the most richest people who control everything we see, do and buy are only about 3% of the population. There are 5 huge companies that own everything on TV, magazines, clothing stores. They use people in poor countries and don't even pay them a living wage and then charge us huge amounts to buy, so they can stay on top.

I am really disappointed with this years show. I don't know if I'm expecting too much. I just find it is jumping around so much and too many story lines. The books are about Sookie yet we see more of Tara and Jason then Sookie. I think the fairy stuff is stupid. The fairies didn't come to Sookie in dreams or near death.

I just don't know how I feel about it all.

Jayme(the ghost reader) (jaymeiltheghostreader) I like the fairyland. I guess that is just me. They are introducing Hunter a little too early but he is sooooo adorable. I broke down and finally got HBO because I was fed up with trying to find a good link to watch it online.

That's a shame that it's going to be Renee's baby and more of a shame that Arlene doesn't want it.

Susan (susanbevans) There really is a bit too much going on this season! This week's episode felt jumbled, and for once, I didn't have any inclination to go back and watch it again right away.

message 23: by Sarah (last edited Aug 16, 2010 08:03PM) (new)

Sarah (emoonae) | 225 comments I LOVED THIS EPISODE!!! It was like True Blood on coffee beans, human blood, meth, fairy water, and a handful of pixie sticks!

Russell is definitely going down. I suppose the AVL and "The Authority" will give Eric all the resources he needs to take out Russell after his special news report. Like most of y'all I laughed pretty hard at that; I think Russell really missed his calling. Also, I really think the actor did a good job of working with his props in this episode--first the candy jar-o-Talbot and then the spine of the dead newscaster.

And can I just say, I KNEW Nan was a hypocrite! Synthetic blood, my ass!

It looks like poor Sam snapped and Calvin was just in the wrong place at the wrong time...and being a werepanther didn't help. As I recall, TB Sam has hinted that his encounters with Weres have not been pleasant. I hope his bout of comsmic wrath wears off quickly.

I wasn't sure anything could make TB Calvin sympathetic, but his being a victim almost did. Crystal is not so innocent, but I was glad to hear her say that not everyone in Hotshot is involved with the crystal meth cooking/dealing. There may yet be some redeeming qualities there.

What else...

Yay for Hoyt and Jessica! I hope they'll get back together now.

Hooray for Tara! I enjoyed watching her stand up to Franklin...and I enjoyed his final death at the hands of Jason even more!

So, this "Authority"--when we first heard about it in one of the "postmortems", I thought that the actor was using the term "authority" in the general sense--not that that was its actual name.

Anyway, so we know now that "The Authority" has been around for about 200 years; they appear to be five guys in suits (very Big Brother); and we know they're American, 'cause someone (Eric?) muttered something to that effect about them in a derrogatory tone.

I predict, and perahps this will never be proven, that "The Authority" is made up of the Founding Fathers.

Jayme(the ghost reader) (jaymeiltheghostreader) I think that was Nan that referred to one of them being American. I am disappointed in who the Calvin Norris character so far.

message 25: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (emoonae) | 225 comments Oh, yeah...and Sookie...seems weird to post something and not at least mention her name, but there's not much to say there...

...except that the introduction of Hunter seemed a bit scattered, and I think that Hadley is going to meet with an untimely death--without being made a vampire, as I know someone else has suggested on these threads before.

And I hated the cliffhanger with Bill telling Sookie that he knew what she was, but I'm not too surprised that he didn't just come right out and say it.

I swear, the more characters this show gets, the crazier the plots are, and the more it all seems kinda like a soap opera...but in a good way. :-)

Jayme(the ghost reader) (jaymeiltheghostreader) yep...

message 27: by Angie (new)

Angie Not sure how I feel about Russell popping up on the news. Fairyland is weird, and I always pictured Claude and Claudine as blonds. Guess I was wrong!

message 28: by Jessie (new)

Jessie | 142 comments Me Too Angie. Not sure if it was ever said in the books, but I pictured them Blonde too.

message 29: by Carrie (new)

Carrie I feel like I remember Claudine and Claude actually being referred to as brunettes in the books. Who knows, I could have just decided that on my own though, lol

I haven't decided how I feel about this season yet, actually. I feel a tad bit disappointed - I don't think it's living up to the expectations that I had. However, I still get really excited to watch it each week!

message 30: by Ranata (new)

Ranata Clark (thatchicknata) Best part ever in this episode. Russell and the News Anchor and then the very end when he goes "Now, time for the weather, Tiffany =D" I had to rewind it. Team Russell even though I'm rooting for Eric to end his undead life but for now, the look on Nan's face was PRICELESS.

message 31: by Jj (new)

Jj (JJPattz) | 5 comments @Renata that was my fav part! I just couldnt stop laughing..deffinately I pictured Claudinne as a blond tall beautiful woman! I do believe fairy land is ..weirdI hated Nan and how she treated Eric..Isnt Sookie suppoused 2 be with Mr Tigger in this part? I do miss Alcide..and well the series is not as good as the books but I love how I can see my character and some steamy action between Sookie and Bill..am I wrong for wanting some Eric/Sookie action?

message 32: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (emoonae) | 225 comments Jj wrote: "Isnt Sookie suppoused 2 be with Mr Tigger in this part?"

I don't *think* Quinn shows up until the end of the fourth or fifth book...

Jayme(the ghost reader) (jaymeiltheghostreader) Mr Tigger is after Alcide. He wouldn't be introduced until next season.

message 34: by Jj (new)

Jj (JJPattz) | 5 comments Ohhhh....I know he appears in Sookies life till def dead but..Mr Tiger in my head is as amazing as Alcide, but the seires has mixed everything.. anyways I still love the series but I adore the books, i dont want this season to end..dont want to think about next season..yet..i missed them too much

message 35: by Christy (new)

Christy | 127 comments I love this season! I think it's way better than last year (and I loved last year). I thought it was funny and creepy and PERFECT that Russell was talking to Talbot in the crystal bowl/candy dish. He has TOTALLY lost it.

Sarah (emoonae) | 225 comments Christy wrote: "I love this season! I think it's way better than last year (and I loved last year). I thought it was funny and creepy and PERFECT that Russell was talking to Talbot in the crystal bowl/candy dish...."

I AGREE! Denis O'Hare is impeccable! It's too bad that it looks like Russell won't be around much longer. I mean, if he's allowed to remain undead, he'd just turn into a red herring for later seasons...not to mention an extreme menace.

It would be great to see him debate Steve Newlin. Steve would spout his usual shtick about vampires being the spawn of the Devil, and Russell would rebut by eating him...probably Sarah, too.

message 37: by Lacey (new)

Lacey (spinner26) | 58 comments I agree that fairy land is kinda weird, but Dead in the Family brings up fairy land, and obviously Sookie nor Bill go frolicing around in there.

BTW - Claudine and Claude are both described as very beautiful dark brunettes.

I just wish we could see Claudine coming to action in the real world, or just ineracting with Sookie. Wasn't she Tara's friend in the books first? I believe she was working at Tara's Toggs.

OH.....one more thing, and I kind of thought this was a biggie.....The books emphasized how the fairies were like junk food for vampires. All the vampires knew what Claudine was, but were never sure about Sookie since she isn't full blooded. I just wonder why was Bill so shocked when he waltzed up through the door and encountered Claudine? Shouldn't he have been able to smell her and know what she was? I kinda wish that history was there. Or maybe Bill has never known a Fairy?

message 38: by Sarah (new)

I get that sense. It seems like, on True Blood, vampires know of fairies, but rarely interact with them. So, they wouldn't recognize one if they saw one, but the encounter would be potentially deadly - for vampire or fairy, depending on who gets the upper hand. So again, probably everything vampires know about fairies is hearsay - kinda like Sophie Anne with the maenad.

At risk of sounding superficial, I really wish they had cast Claudine better. She's supposed to be EXTREMELY beautiful. This gal is pretty, but I'm sure they could've cast her better (and younger). I'm anxious to see Claude!

Lacey (spinner26) | 58 comments Nicole wrote: "At risk of sounding superficial, I really wish they had cast Claudine better. She's supposed to be EXTREMELY beautiful. This gal is pretty, but I'm sure they could've cast her better (and younger)...."

I 100% agree with you, Nicole! She is pretty, but I had pictured a very exotic-looking girl that commanded everyone to look at her. There has been no mention of Claude, and since they are suppose to be twins that look alike, we may not get a Claude. :(

message 41: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Salom (elistar) (elistar) I actually really like where Alan Ball is taking the series - I feel like it's just close enough to the book that it's recognizable and yet unpredictable. I love the exchanges between Eric and Pam, and can't wait till he makes Bill tell Sookie why he really went to Bon Temps. And from the previews for the rest of the season, it looks like we're going to get some Eric/Sookie action and that Eric is going to corner Bill and make him tell her the truth.
I totally agree with whoever said that Claudine was mis-cast. I expected her to be breathtakingly gorgeous, and much, much taller.

Jayme(the ghost reader) (jaymeiltheghostreader) I really hate Eric's hair now that he has gone darker. I much prefer the blond. His hair doesn't match his complexion.

message 43: by Krisztina (new)

Krisztina Williams (krisztinawilliams) | 5 comments Yeah, I LOVE all of Jason's dumb-blonde lines! Still my favorite line of the whole season so far was when Sookie said she was expecting Bill to come through the door any moment and say "Sookie-" and she said it in his accent. I just couldn't stop laughing at that.
