What are you reading now?
I just started The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane. Not into it enough to say how good it is, but I'm always fascinated by the Salem witch trials.I read Sweetblooda while ago. Anyone else read it? I though it had a really interesting spin on vampires. The main character belives that there is a connection between diabetes and vampirism.
My favorite is The BFG and The Witches - some months ago- I went on a Roald Dahl buying spree- purchasing 11 of his books including his collection of short stories geared to adult readers- I really love his writing style and the Thurbereque illustrations! I must say that they are a bit hard to read after doing some research on Dahl- true he played a key role in nursing his wife Patricia Neal back to health after her terrible stroke- but I was unaware of the truly hidious anti-semitism he not only believed in but was quite happy to say horrible things about Jews outload as well as in print-
In 1983 Dahl reviewed Tony Clifton's God Cried, a picture book about the 1982 Israeli invasion of Lebanon depicting Israelis killing thousands of Beirut inhabitants by bombing civilian targets. Dahl's review stated that this invasion was when "we all started hating Israel", and that the book would make readers "violently anti-Israeli", writing, "I am not anti-Semitic. I am anti-Israel."[37:] Dahl told a reporter in 1983, "There’s a trait in the Jewish character that does provoke animosity ... I mean there is always a reason why anti-anything crops up anywhere; even a stinker like Hitler didn’t just pick on them for no reason."
I have nearly finished "Perfect Chemistry" and liking it a lot. Next read after that will probably be "Beautiful Creatures" or "Hunger Games".
I've read both, and I vote Hunger Games. You can read the first two and then not have to wait for the third. (I'm so impatient to read it!)
I just finished reading Birthmarked by Caragh M. O'Brien. It was great! The same feel as The Uglies, The Hunger Games and the Susan Beth Pfeffer series The Dead and the Gone. I am going to read a book called Dark life soon.Just read The Iron King too and it was also great!

I have found a wonderful site where you can buy all books for 3.75 and sell books for 3.00 www.greenmetropolis.com
I just started The Silver Kiss by Annette Curtis Klaus. So far I like it and I feel like I can tell it's going to get really good. I'm actually listening to the audiobook --- I've been reading that way a lot lately and am really liking it. Not sure if this was included in the paperback version of this book, but at the beginning of the audiobook, there was a short story added by the author. It was pretty neat. It was about (and narrated by in 1st person), the main vampire (Simon) from the main book. It was an interesting inside look at another occurrence in his life.
I finished "Lover Eternal" (2nd Black Dagger novel) this morning on the train ride to work and will start with "Beautiful Creatures" during lunch...
Just finished 13 to Life. Wanted more answers by the end of the book. but I think it will continue as a series. Anyone know of a discussion group for the Fever Series? It has been a while since I read them, but I really liked them and would to talk to others about the story and characters.

Vicky wrote: "I just got this at the library. I have too many books I want to read right now LOL."I get overzealous by putting too many books into the queue at the library, thinking that because some of them have long wait times I'll end up with nothing to read.
It always backfires on me and I end up having to pick up a huge stack of books at the library.
So many books...so little time.
I have the same problem, plus I am a moody reader. I like to read what I am in the mood for instead of what needs to be returned first, LOL.
I'm VERY guilty of that. I'll get a stack of books and go right for the one that appeals to me first. A few days later some more books will come in and instead of continuing to read the ones that I already have that will be due back at the library sooner, I'll start up with one of the new books. It doesn't help having a Nook either. Sometimes I'm in the mood to use the ereader, even though the books on there don't have a due date on them.
@Lazuline + Aiyanna:Have fun with the MI books! I loved them soooo much!!!
I started with "Tempest rising" this morning...

I'm enjoying the first one a lot so far. I hope this series doesn't let me down like so many others.
Aiyanna wrote: "Lazuline i am reading that book too!"
How do you like it so far? I'm almost finished with the book, and I really liked it. I love Jace's personality. Wish more of the narration was done through him, though.
Just started
@Aiyanna: There's a huge cliffhanger at the end, and I'm so glad the next two books in the series are already out!
really! oooo cant wait i am at the part where they are in luke's house and the demons are talking to Luke
I'm reading a really interesting one right now -- very different from the usual YA books I choose. It's called The Bone Magician and is sort of a YA version of Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell. Have any of you read it? I'm really curious to hear what other people think about this book. I like it, but it's kind of hard to pay attention to because it doesn't really have a linear, easy-to-follow plot. There's a lot going on and a bunch of different characters. I like it, but it takes a lot of focus to understand what's going on -- it's definitely not a relaxing type of read.
I'm currently reading Shadow Hills as a part of an ARC tour. It's surprising me, not what I thought it would be. Nice.

She goes from a blonde, pink-wearing (ANNOYING)southern belle to a dark haired, spear-toting evil-faerie killer. Book 1 is the weakest of the series, but it is free in ebook format, which is what sucked me in. Book 3 is hottest of the 3 I've read so far (just about to start book 4), and the scenes get really "intense" sexually toward the end of the book, which is why I felt the need to disclaim that in a YA forum.
However, the book leaves you wanting to marked by a fae if it is as appealing as when V'lane leaves his name as a brand on her tongue (he tells her to open her mouth and try to say his name and he'll be there).
And that's just V'lane. A lot of people like the main hero, Barrons even better, but trying to post about him would take up too much space. :)
