the first part: my... church leader just got back from Europe and told us that XD

the cold war part: 6 months before the soviet Union disband'd and the cold war (quote end quote) "Ended" a Mickey d opened in the middle of Moscow XD the line to get in was about anywhere from 4 - 6 hours long...

Another history nerd explanation~!: up until that time in Soviet Russia (car steals you XD) you had to A) bribe to be let into any type of restaurant, then you had to B) pay another bribe to be served and waited on and C) the food was so overly expensive is was a waist of money to go out. Well, when MD opened the food was cheep, the service was friendly, and you didn't have to BRIBE anyone for anything.
