Belladonna (~Miriam Daisy Rose~) (miriamdaisyrose) | 5 comments "Aoife" Old Mrs. Lanners handed the bundle over to the girl. The the light from the candle stub flickered in the crisp night, illuminating the owners of the hushed, short voices. She tucked the bundle into a sash, simultaneously securing the candle in the stomach of a glass lantern. They exchanged a quick kiss on opposite cheeks as the fold of a well-worn cloak slid over the lantern, concealing the light. And Aoife was out of the barn, across the small field to the left of the house, at the edge of the woods, down the well trodden path. Old Mrs. Lanners waited in the cold until she was sure Aoife was well on her way before she made her way through the dark back to the old farmhouse. There were distant howls coming from different directions, which seemed almost out of place in this moonless night. Breathing. The gentle rustling of a thin petticoat under a dress of cheep material that was stiff long ago, but made smooth after by many owners it had been worn. The only sounds made were gentle enough to be drown out by the whistle of the wind, the only light made by the lantern enough to be dulled to an inconspicuous dim glow by the cloak it was shrouded in.
