My (least)favorite thing in the world. Grammar. Lots of people including myself, from time to time need help with it. So here discuss various grammar problems.

Shouldn't lease be least?

Yes. Wow. Now, that my friend is ironic.

:) That's hilarious! I thought maybe you did on purpose for some strange reason... but I just thought I would mention it.

message 5: by Tesni (new)

Tesni (ohmarcello) | 5031 comments Also, there shouldn't be a comma between Myself and From :D

message 6: by Laura (last edited Jun 07, 2010 03:33PM) (new)

Laura | 911 comments GAH YOU ARE MISSING A COMMA BETWEEN PEOPLE AND INCLUDING.

You're setting off the phrase "including me" from the sentence "Lots of people from time to time need help with it".

Haha yah I noticed that, too.

We're not insulting. That's the whole point of this group. I mean, no offense intended. Juliet's awesome.

No offense, but if you don't bother with grammar, you seem uneducated and pretty much like an idiot.

Wow, if you'd done "no", I might've left it (okay, probably not), but now sounds NOTHING like what you're trying to say!

Haha you do know that appreciate might've actually been easier to type if you'd spelled it right? But whatever and yes, I can and I'll prove it.

message 18: by Baxter, butts butts butts (new)

Baxter (julietrocksmysocks) | 2455 comments Mod
Yeah, it would have. But spelling it correctly would have like, gone against the toolbag spelling code or something.

message 19: by [deleted user] (new)

True. Anyhoo, what's your fave color?

message 20: by Baxter, butts butts butts (new)

Baxter (julietrocksmysocks) | 2455 comments Mod
Well seeing as how that is heinously off the topic of grammar and therefore has no belonging in this thread, I should not answer that question.

It's yellow/orange though.

message 21: by [deleted user] (new)

That's true... And I ask everybody that, so thanks for answering.

message 22: by [deleted user] (last edited Jun 08, 2010 10:11AM) (new)

I'm not always the best with grammar, but it bothers me when people are doing what I know is grammatically incorrect.

There.

message 24: by [deleted user] (new)

Haha, I think I'm pretty good at grammar, which I think is kind of ironic since I'm Mexican...

Confused is me... How does being Mexican make it ironic?

message 26: by [deleted user] (new)

I learned English four years ago while Americans learn it since they're born. I was just as good, if not better (sorry, I don't mean to brag...) than most kids in my English class this year (and, well, the past four years...AHHH! sorry, I'm a bragging little brat again...)

message 27: by CheshRCat (new)

CheshRCat | 22 comments I can be a bit of a grammar freak at times... bad grammar for me is like nails across a chalkboard.

Has anybody read
--Eats, shoots and leaves by Lynne Truss
--The Opal Deception by Eoin Colfer? (In the latter book, the arch-vilainess has a grammar hang-up)

message 28: by [deleted user] (new)

Haha. Nice. And yeah, bad grammar and spelling kill me.

Right. Gotcha, haha. We can be so pathetic with grammar...

message 31: by [deleted user] (new)

We as in whom?

message 32: by [deleted user] (new)

Americans, or people in general really.

message 33: by [deleted user] (new)

heh this probably took you longer to write with all the caps variations.

message 35: by [deleted user] (new)

Eats, Shoots and Leaves is epicly awesome. Everybody should read it-perhaps it could become compulsory reading at school.

message 39: by Laura (new)

Laura | 911 comments It should. That book is awesome.

One thing that bothers me is books with typos. And textbooks with typos. Once, our ENGLISH book had a typo. That was annoying.

message 41: by [deleted user] (new)

Aah!! One of my secret joys in life is finding typos in textbooks...

I wrote them a letter. Then never mailed it... I forgot.

message 43: by [deleted user] (new)

Sad.

message 44: by [deleted user] (new)

I caught six errors no one else had seen in this manuscript once. I felt very proud. XD And then I found three in the final Fablehaven installment. Seeing that you've made a difference in the way a book is published is so cool!

message 45: by [deleted user] (last edited Jun 10, 2010 10:02PM) (new)

Wow, I sound like a braggart there. I wasn't trying to be arrogant. e...heheh...ehe....

message 46: by [deleted user] (new)

:) You don't and that's awesome.

message 47: by [deleted user] (new)

Thank ye. Ahahaha. I should sleep.

But I don't wanna!

Go to sleep, Maxy.

NO!

message 49: by [deleted user] (new)
