Laura (laurahogan) | 72 comments There was a true crime book, I'm thinking from the early to mid 1990s, about a young-ish man who murdered a teenage neighbor, a girl around 16. It took place somewhere in the midwest in the 1950s, and at the time it happened, the author had been a young journalist following the case. (I think the author's first name might be Harry, but I'm not at all sure). One of the scenes I remember from the books is that the murderer, who was married, went over to his wife during a break in the trial proceedings and sort of petulantly asked her to bring him some stuff from home so he could have it in jail. The guy was found guilty and executed.

Thanks!
