Tammy (tammylizabeth) | 1 comments I just wasn't as impressed by this book as I thought I would be. The title of it hooked me in - but I don't think it delved deep enough into the complications of female friendships. The main character, Gus, was weak. At times, I wanted to throttle her against a wall. I enjoyed Henry's character and wish there would have been more interaction with him. Overall - I don't think I would recommend this to anyone. The more I think about it, the more disappointed I am with this book as a whole.

Julie (jooliaaah) agree wholeheartedly. in fact, i finished the book less than a month ago and have completely forgot what the plot was. not kidding. gus was so negative and whiny that i felt like gouging my eye out with a fork. i wouldn't recommend it either, not for any reason. i couldn't get it back to bookswim fast enough.

Yes, I'm glad I didn't recommend this for our book club here in August. Since reading about the book (somewhere?) and being intrigued, like Tammy, by the title, I have read several rough reviews that really give it a bashing.

Will think of something else for our next book club, now that I'm all settled in our new place. Maybe I'll yet unpack something...! ;)

CLM | 2 comments I haven't read Frenemies yet but I liked her earlier book, English as a Second Language, about a woman who is studying for a master's degree in the UK.

Charlene McConnell | 7 comments I didn't give up on this one, I thought it redeemed itself once you made it to the middle of the book.

Ellenjsmellen | 5 comments I didn't like it at first, but ended up liking it. Read it a couple of weeks ago and can't remember the plot either! I was also sucked in by the title. I'm giving her another chance with Everyone Else's Girl right now. I'll keep you all posted!

Karina (karinamikhli) I just started and finished it today, and I actually enjoyed it. I didn't like her first book but did like her second and this one. And yes: Gus was whiny and should have handled Helen and Henry differently, but she eventually matures... I've been reading a lot heavier (and sadder) books, so this was just what I needed today.

Ellenjsmellen | 5 comments Just got finished with everyone else's girl and it was quite sloooow, but I finished it the other day and Frenemies was better.
