If anyone read this book, please tell me what do you think of the first 100 pages.

Depends if you read A Star Called Henry and Play That Thing. Much more than an immigrant story come full circle; The Dead Republic ends the trilogy and unfortunately is the weakest of the three books. That said, If you haven't read the first two (I recommend them highly) the first hundred of Dead Republic will have much less meaning. Hope this helps.

I disagree this is 'weak'. The first 100 pages engage powerfully with the movie industry and its representation of Irish reality and working class reality. It is a fascinating insight into the Irish American director John Ford and the movie industry of that time.
