Darkfever (Book #1)
This was the first book I read as it was the first in the series and I read them in order.
I know most of the people who have read the series didn't enjoy this book as much as the others but for me the series was amazing since book 1. I got totally hooked with this series since page 1.
I loved the world created bu Moning and specially to get to know the characters. I think that in this series we get more Mac than any other character. But that was O.K. I loved Mac since book 1. I remember that Mac at the beginning was a bit shallow and innocent. After finishing book 4 I don't remember much of it though because Mac has grown so much since book 1 through the series.
There's not much romance in this one, but loved it nevertheless.
What did you think about this one?

LOL Alycia, you're in for a ride because if you liked book 1 the rest will amaze you because they are much better.

I did like book one, but didn't love it. SO glad to hear the others are beter! Thanks Vale! :)
They are! And don't worry Alycia, for most fever fans was the same. Book one was a 3 star rating for many but all next books 5 stars rating and a direct pass to their favs shelves.
So be happy you still have those 3 books to read. And I promise once you start with book 2 you won't be able to stop.

I may just break down and buy them all again. :/
I have been searching for book 1 and 2 in hardback everywhere and they are sold out! Not even amazon has them . Book one because I want the blue cover which no one has and book 2 only used.

OH- did they release them later in HB?
The hardbacks are beautiful, I really like it but I just can't seem to find them. I'm not sure how they were published though.
i havent bought them yet. i wanted to wait. i want the new covers in hardback, but i dont even knoe if they will release the nwe covers in hardback yet. but i do have darkfever on kindle.

TLF I have just bought one so I can answer you anything you wanna know, just send me a message with all your questions!
i got just a kindle about 2 weeks ago and it is amazing, i like reading off it a lot better than print books.
Me too, thought I would never like to read from it more than from books but I do. I still can't believe it,lol.

I'm so excited about starting the re-read!But I am currently reading so many books at the same time that it will take me a while to get to it!!

I just started reading this one and am only on chapter two. I really hope Mac is not like Sookie, while reading I got that vibe...hope it's not true! There's nothing worse than a great story with an annoying heroine! ;)

I HATED Mac in the first book. She gets much, much better as the story progresses. You just have to put up with her in Darkfever and the begining on Bloodfever. She was kick-ass in Dreamfever!

yeah, I totally agree, Sookie seemed to get worse as the books progressed.

Same thought about Sookie, but Mac is not like that at all. You'll love her!!

Lori, I was completely annoyed with Mac in the first book and more than half of the second one (although even there she'd made an imporvement). From the end of Bloodfever and all the way to Dreamfever, she's really grown into her role! I'm glad I stuck with her, she doesn't disappoint. :)

And on to my seccond order of business :!!!!! SPOILER ALERT !!!!!
So i'm really behind on the reread and I'm just barely half through DarkFever when I came across this on page 69 in reference to Druids: They believed day followed night, and held to a credo of metempsyhosis in which the human soul does not die but is reborn in different forms." that got me thinking maybe there is something to the theory that Mac is the dark king's cocubine. A few people have raised that notion and now I'm starting to believe it too. Could that have been what Alina meant in her message (aside from the sidhe-seer and null thing). But what does that mean for Mac? Is she fated to be with the King? If so who is the king? Omg I hope it's Barrons . What do you all think?

I liked the innocent Mac, not the shallowness. In all of the books KMM refers to her that way. Her dad in Dreamfever tells her mother that Mac couldn't do something bad. That she is good. Barrons calls her his rainbow girl. And even though she has been brought so low and is a little darker for it, she is still good inside.
What is that lake place in her head, not the sid-seer place?

**SUMMARY**
MacKayla Lane’s life is good. She has great friends, a decent job, and a car that breaks down only every other week or so. In other words, she’s your perfectly ordinary twenty-first-century woman.
Or so she thinks…until something extraordinary happens.
When her sister is murdered, leaving a single clue to her death–a cryptic message on Mac’s cell phone–Mac journeys to Ireland in search of answers. The quest to find her sister’s killer draws her into a shadowy realm where nothing is as it seems, where good and evil wear the same treacherously seductive mask. She is soon faced with an even greater challenge: staying alive long enough to learn how to handle a power she had no idea she possessed–a gift that allows her to see beyond the world of man, into the dangerous realm of the Fae….
As Mac delves deeper into the mystery of her sister’s death, her every move is shadowed by the dark, mysterious Jericho, a man with no past and only mockery for a future. As she begins to close in on the truth, the ruthless Vlane–an alpha Fae who makes sex an addiction for human women–closes in on her. And as the boundary between worlds begins to crumble, Mac’s true mission becomes clear: find the elusive Sinsar Dubh before someone else claims the all-powerful Dark Book–because whoever gets to it first holds nothing less than complete control of the very fabric of both worlds in their hands….
