message 1: by Sans (new)

Sans I'm gonna go with Etta James' "At Last" for right now. There are a ton more but that popped into my head first.

message 2: by Tressa (new)

Tressa (moanalisa) "To Make You Feel My Love" written by Bob Dylan (I like his version, too) but sung really well by Adele and Garth Brooks.

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) Those are both good songs.

"Let's Stay Together" by Al Green, "A Thousand Years" by Sting.

message 4: by Tressa (new)

Tressa (moanalisa) Oh, speaking of Sting, I love "Fields of Gold."

I never made promises lightly
And there have been some that I've broken
But I swear in the days still left
We'll walk in the fields of gold

message 5: by Eastofoz (new)

Eastofoz "Your Body is a Wonderland" by John Mayer, "Sexual Healing" by Marvin Gay or "Lost Together" by Blue Rodeo --all very different songs but there's just something about them.

message 6: by Carl (new)

Carl I. | 96 comments "Trust" by 7 Seconds was always my idea of a perfect love song. No weepy mellow stuff, just high energy that I always thought perfectly represented how a person really feels when in love.

"I Think It's Love Again" by Dogs D'Amour though is probably my all-time favorite love song. Tyla even played it when I asked him to when I saw him recently. :)

"Love Song" by The Damned. Duh.

message 15: by Dana * (new)

Dana * (queenofegypt) Look at us baby, up all night
Tearing our love apart
Aren't we the same two people who live
through years in the dark?
Ahh...
Every time I try to walk away
Something makes me turn around and stay
And I can't tell you why

When we get crazy,
it just ain't to right,
(try to keep you head, little girl)
Girl, I get lonely, too
You don't have to worry
Just hold on tight
(don't get caught in your little world)
'Cause I love you
Nothing's wrong as far as I can see
We make it harder than it has to be
and I can't tell you why
no, baby, I can't tell you why
I can't tell you why
No, no, baby, I can't tell you why

Guitar Chick-Dolly Dagger made a site for Sngs that make you cry. So i'm going to put love songs here, and crybaby songs there. Just thought you all would want to know about her site.

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) "How Can You Mend a Broken Heart". I like the Al Green version the best.

I don't know the Al Green version but I do know Barry and Robin Gibb wrote it. I'll go check out youtube for Al's version :)

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) I didn't know who sang it first. I did know the Bee Gees wrote it.

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) Eugenia wrote: "I love the Bee Gees, they did some great music."

I had such a crush on Barry Gibb when I was a teenager :)

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) I thought Barry Gibb was very handsome.

Do you all remember Andy Gibb? Baby brother of the Bee Gees. Died an early life at 30 years old. He was all kinds of nice to look at. Kind of makes me think of a young George Michael. Be sure to look at the video of him and Marie Osmond. Takes me back to a much simpler place and time, I don't know if I want to laugh or cry!

Careless Whisper

The same can be said of this song, laugh, or cry?

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) That was sad when he died.

Tressa (moanalisa) I thought Barry looked like Wolfman. Not so much now that his mane is less shaggy.

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) Too funny, Tressa. He does!

According to Wikipedia, in March 1988, he celebrated his 30th birthday in London whilst working on a new album. Soon after, he entered John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, complaining of chest pains. He died on 10 March 1988, just 5 days after his 30th birthday as a result of myocarditis, an inflammation of the heart muscle due to a recent viral infection. Just before his death, it had been decided by the Bee Gees that Andy would join them.

He did have a drug problem for a time and was in the Betty Ford clinic for a period in the mid-1980s.
