Shay hated being chained up.Captured is being useless and being useless is boring. She knew thatshe could not be rescued before Raven nor Tomuas.Shay knew that she could not lkive whith her self if she was rescue at all
Raven was sleeping soundlessly, getting paler by the second. They had stolen too much of her magic.
((Chill, Zelda! Frankie needs to get on, okay? So stop making the situation more dire! What, do you want James to give her some of his magic? He still needs it to rescue Thomas and maybe Shay!))
((Well, I just needed to post something, kay!! And that was the first thing that came to mind. Where are you?!))

Shay glared at the chains when she started thinking of Raven. She was thinking-I hope shes okay but Thomas........I hope he's hurt a little bit.Like Raven Shay hated felling helpols
Understanding the graveness of the situation, Marina weakened her veil. Now she could be seen rather easily, but not if the person was distracted. Also, this weakening of the veil allowed her to have more mobility.
Taking the unconscious Raven from James, Marina walked in the direction that he had pointed in. All Marina saw was a solid wall, but she trusted James. Closing her eyes, Marina walked straight ahead. Soon, she was in a different room entirely, one that she could sense was underground. Listening for the sound of moving water, Marina followed the path of rocks.
((Poor Zelda...Bwahahahahahaa!!))
James watched Marina take Raven away with a feeling of relief. With Raven safely out of the way, he could go back to search for Thomas -- and Shay, if Raven was actually speaking sense when she had muttered her name -- without worrying about what would happen to her. But he was still quite concerned for Raven's saftey(('cuz he's got a freakin' CRUSH on her!!!)).
James went back down the hall, his scalp still prickling furiously, keeping a careful lookout for any more guards. He encountered none until he turned a corner and was confronted with a long hallway with many doors set into its walls. There two men were sitting idly outside two different doors.
One of the guards glimpsed James and opened his mouth to shout, but part of the wall behind him shot out and hit him on the head. He fell out of his chair, unconcious, and his colleague soon met a similar fate.
James took his hand off of the wall and proceeded to unlock the first metal door.

((Is this Shay's room? To be honest, I really don't know...))
Thomas gritted his teeth in frustration. James -- for he was certain it was him -- was near; very near, he was sure of it. Could he risk yelling?
He decided he could.
"HELP!!!" Thomas yelled at the top of his voice. "JAMES!! HELP!!"

Staggering under Raven's weight, Marina reached the river. Setting her friend down, she scooped up some water in her hand. Swallowing the pristine liquid, Marina was instantly relieved. Scooping up another handful of water, Marina began to splash Raven in the face. Then, whispering a simple spell that would keep Raven safe for a few minutes, Marina slipped into the river and relaxed. The water, though not wetting Marina, was soothing, calming, and healing. Exactly sixty seconds later, Marina surfaced, took a final gulp of water, and immediately began rifling through her backpack.
((Is Raven bleeding? 'Cause I want to make a bandage for her... but it would be kind of pointless if she's not bleeding...))
((Well, yeah, she's bleeding.))
Raven felt the water against her face, but couldn't exactly do anything.
Raven felt the water against her face, but couldn't exactly do anything.
((Yes! I mean... not that I want Raven to be hurt... it's just that I really want to bandage her up. By the way, does Raven happen to be wearing a skirt?))
((Actually, I just read Raven's character description, and her long vest will do just fine. Thank you, Zelda, for such and interesting depiction of your character's clothes.))
Noticing that a red splotch had begun to appear on Raven's sleeve, Marina immediately halted her actions. Scurrying over to Raven's feet, Marina tightly gripped Raven's long, floor-length vest. Pulling with all her might, Marina managed to rip off a scrap. Repeating the maneuver, Marina ended up with a long strip of black cloth. Hoping that Raven wouldn't mind a torn vest, Marina grabbed Raven's arm. Having bandaged it tightly, Marina once again set to searching through her possessions. She was not quite sure what she was looking for, but she knew that he would know once she found it.
Marina started when she heard a sharp intake of breath beside her. Knowing that time was being lost, Marina continued to search her own bag. Hair brush, towel, hair ties, empty pack of gum... Marina was surprised at how much random stuff she carried around with her ... bouncy ball, pencil, pen with no ink, folded up paper... Marina unfolded the paper. Seeing that it was of no importance, she tossed it aside. ... socks, a dollar bill... ah, here it was. Resting above Marina's mismatched socks, there lay two miniature, plastic doves. Marina lifted the white, plastic figures, and closed her eyes. Muttering a soft incantation, Marina clenched one dove tightly in her left fist. The other she set gently atop Raven.
Marina remained stationary for a minute, and then collapsed from lack of breath.
((Marina is not unconscious... yet. She is simply trying very hard to help Raven. Marina does not know where on Raven's body the dove is... she had her eyes closed. Zelda... I'll leave that to you to decide. Also, if Raven wakes up soon... Marina needs water.))
((Um... well, Marina is trying to heal Raven. And the two doves are like, uh, a charm. I think that the one on Marina is transferring some of her energy to Raven (through the other dove). Marina accidentally transferred too much, but that can be solved with a drink of water, of course. Raven should suddenly be very alert. Maybe she could slip on the water, and some could splash on Marina. That would work. Of course, then Raven would feel weak again. But she would be conscious... and she could walk.))

((Kay!))
Raven gasped, and then instantly sat up. She felt a little...hyper. She felt the damp earth and wondered where she was. This isn't... She then heard Marina's faint breath, and struggled to stand up, but then accidentally fell back to the earth , accidentally splashing water onto Marina.

((Hey y'all, sorry I haven't posted lately, but I've only been able to get on Goodreads on my dad's iPhone, and you know, a phone keyboard isn't the best for long posts. So, anyway, back to James...>>))
"Thomas?" James yelled, stopping in the middle of the room. His friend was here! Close by, it sounded like. James grinned fiercely and started back towards the door, barely seeming to notice the two men who rushed at him from behind except to sink them up to their necks in the ground. ((Ow.)) He had his hand on the door and was about to walk out when he remembered the girl bound and gagged at the back of the room. Riiight...

Marina blinked and looked up. She saw Raven trying to hold herself upright with some difficulty. Realizing what was going on Marina set Raven into a sitting position and then settled down on the damp gravelly ground."Raven, look at me," Marina said with a stern face. Once she was certain that she had Raven's attention, she continued. "James is trying to help Thomas and Shay. We need to get you into good condition so we can go help him. Understand?" Marina stared patiently into Raven's face and felt that something was... wrong.
((Hey, wait... I just remembered... Isn't Raven blind? Anyways, that could be what was "wrong" when Marina looked into Raven's eyes.))
Raven nodded slowly. "Yes...Marina, is that you?" She had almost not recognized her voice, but she had noticed the sternness in her voice. This had to be Marina.
Marina nodded slowly. "Yes... Now come on, eat this..." Marina said, handing Raven a small pellet of tree bark, basil, and salt that she had found [at last:] in her overstuffed purse... "We need to go help James."
"Ah..." James turned around and walked back to the girl. "Do I have to freakin' rescue everybody?" he grumbled. He worked on the knots that tied the rope around the girl. "Let me guess; you're Shay," James said as the ropes fell away. "If you go outside and turn right, there'll be a long hall. At the end of the hall, turn left, go up the stairs, and you'll be out of here." He straightened up abruptly and walked out the door, carefully sidestepping the two heads that stuck out of the ground and glared at him hatefully.
Raven slowly ate the food Marina had handed her, whatever it was, and then finished eating, and asked,'Where is James?"
James entered the hallway and walked over to another door. Please let Thomas be in here...please, please, please...
Thomas was just gathering air for another scream when the door flew open and someone let out yell.
"THOMAS!!"
"James!!"

"THOMAS!!"
"James!!"
Marina moaned in agitation. "I just told you! James is trying to rescue Thomas and Shay! We should try to help him. Or at least find alternative methods of escape so not everyone will be leaving in the same direction!" Marina sighed angrily. This girl wasn't helping Marina's mood (to say the least). "Come on, now. Let's get moving!" Marina stuck her hand out to Raven, who was seated on the gravel.((Bobbie, How should we try to help James? I mean should we actually try to help him save Thomas?... or just try to get away?... or should we just knock out some more guards?))
((Do as you wish, but James might need some help getting the little remote thingy that controls Thomas's chip.))
James rushed over to Thomas and immediately started working on freeing him from the metal straps that held him to the chair. "Are you okay? What did they do to you?"
Thomas watched as James yanked on his wrist cuff fruitlessly. "I'm okay," he said. "They didn't really do much, just toss me around a bit. I can't believe you're here!"
"Neither can I," muttered James. He knew Thomas was lying about how his kidnappers had 'tossed him around a bit.' His friend had a black eye, several scrapes, cuts, and bruises, and looked like his nose was broken. "How come I can't get you out of this thing?" James exclaimed in frustration.

((Okay...))With a 'come on' Marina hoisted Raven into a standing position and began jogging through the maze of hallways. Urging Raven to move more quickly, Marina said, "Let's go look for James. We'll see what we can do."
Raven ran as fast as she could in her condition, and then said,"Marina, where exactly are we? What does it look like in here?" There was a sense of urgency in her voice.
Thomas sighed and closed his eyes. "I think...they put a chip in me that disables the powers of the people around me. I thought before that it just affected me, but apparently that's not so."
Thomas opened his eyes to meet James's stunned gaze. "How wide a radius does this thing have?" he demanded.
"I don't know, but I do know that Perkn -- that's the guy behind all this -- can control it, like turn it on and off."
"How?" James asked simply.
"Um, I think he has a remote-control thingy, like inside his jacket."
James straightened up and walked toward the door. "I'll be back," he called over one shoulder.
Thomas strained to get out of his restraints. "You aren't gonna -- try to get it from him, are you?"
James turned and gave Thomas a grim smile. "That's exactly what I'm gonna do."
((Ooh, so much drama...))

Marina heard an urgent conversation taking place on the other side of the wall by which she stood. While hurrying to catch James before he left, Marina turned over her shoulder. "What do you mean what does it look like in here? All it is is a freakin' maze of the same gray walls. And you know just as much as I do about where we are, though I can't say that's much." While Marina had been talking to Raven over her shoulder, she hadn't been looking where she was going. Having bumped into someone, Marina whipped her head around with wide eyes. "Oh, hi James," she said shyly.
