Saving the World...Again
"Fine," James replied, looked strained. Thomas nodded sharply.
"That... thing... is going to learn what it's like to be buried alive," Thomas muttered. He raised his arms and his eyes narrowed. Immediately a small tornado sprang up and sucked up the black shadow thing. Thomas flexed his hands, and with a loud wail, the monster disappeared into the hole. The hole quickly vanished as it was covered up by dirt. James sighed and sagged a little against Raven.

Thomas blinked and looked at Marina. "I don't know. I was taken here in some van with a hood over my head. You guys should know, you came here to rescue me!"
"Well," Marina said, "We were transported in here with a monster, so we never had to climb over those fences." She pointed at the top of the tall walls, "And I think they're barb wire."
"Not a problem," Thomas said, and looked at James. "Right?"
James sighed, and after a moment, nodded. "Yeah. I can get us through the wall easily enough."
((Sil, where are you?? Raven needs to be worrying about James! And I was re-reading the first page of the rp, and Raven actually has one blind eye, and an eyepatch.))

((Wow. Okay.))
Raven looked at him and then at the wall. "James, you don't need to do that, I can get us through."

((Fire?))Marina wondered what a fire could do besides attract attention to them as they tried to escape.
"Just shut up and watch." Raven let go of his hand and pushed both of her palms against the fence. She closed her eyes as she concentrated on making them as hot as possible. Her skin quickly turned blanch as she did this, the heat becoming greater as each second passed.
Thomas was getting very antsy. He wanted to get out of this place. He stepped up to Raven and reached out to touch her shoulder. "Hey, can you hurry-- Yow!!" He yanked his hand away from her skin and cradled it to his chest. "God! She's burning up!"
((Zelda says:
Thomas: James, your girlfriend is hot!
James: I know...
Thomas: Wait, not like - I mean - What do you - oh forget it.))
((Zelda says:

Raven was increasing her temperature rapidly, trying to melt the fence as quickly as she could. The teen could already feel the metal begin to liquefy below her palms as she did so. Only a little more... She thought as she pushed her hands against the almost-melting fence.
Raven's fire magic had spread across the fence, the metal melting rapidly now. White-hot silvery liquid began to drip down the sides of the fence, which was now only half as high as it used to be.
"Tell me when you're done." Marina stuttered, and stared at the floor where the white liquid dripped. She made a thin puddled at the base of the fence to prevent the ground from being scorched.
((Well, Zelda did actually say "James, your girlfriend is hot!" because she was over at my house, and then I expanded on it.))
"You really should think before you act next time," James said, with an actual smile. Thomas glared at him and sucked his fingers.

Raven increased the heat a little more, making the whole fence suddenly turn into a mass of burning metal-liquid. She jumped backwards, stopping her fire magic abruptly as she did and narrowly missing a stray splash.
Marina leapt with fright, her eyes blazing with the silver reflection.Breathing heavily, she sent a squirt of water over the base of the used-to-be fence, but it was quickly sent up in steam.
"G-get back!!" Raven ordered, while stumbling backwards into a tree. She quickly felt the bark of it singe at the touch of her skin and moved away from it, her footprints leaving burn marks in the dirt. Raven could feel her clothing begin to be affected by her heat, her pants starting to catch flame. She quickly patted that out, hoping she'd get back to her normal body temperature quickly.
Marina backed away, eyes wide with fright. She doused Raven in cold water and panted, leaning against the scarred tree.
The water steamed on impact with Raven's skin, but it did manage to cool her down at least a little bit. "Thank you..." She muttered, as she sank to the ground. She took a few breathes, clearing her mind to clear the heat and fire burning within her. She was now getting back to a nice temperature between a hundred and three and a hundred and four degrees Fahrenheit. "I needed...that..."
"That was really cool," Thomas said with a grin. "Even if you almost started a forest fire."
James rolled his eyes. "Let's get out of here."
((...Remind me what their plan is?))
((Oh yeah, and feel free to rp James and Thomas. I won't be on for another couplea months.))

A soft click resonated across the empty room as Finn's shackles unlocked and fell to the floor.Finn jerked in surprise, then immediately froze and warily surveyed the room, body tensed to attack.
When nothing happened -- guards didn't stream through the door, nor did machinery burst out of the wall -- he slowly lowered his arms in slight surprise, rubbing his wrists where the cold steel had touched.
What?
Still somewhat confused, Finn whirled around as the metal door to his cell unlocked and slid open with a slight creaking noise...
No guards.
Stepping out into the hallway, Finn looked around to see the place completely deserted. Huh. You would've thought that Perkn would keep more guards watching his "super secret special weapon".
Still suspecting a trap, Finn took a few cautious steps forward. Then, he broke into a run and took off down the hall.
If this is a trap, he thought, I'm probably royally screwed. On the other hand, if it isn't...
The sounds of his footsteps echoed across the stone walls.
No, it has to be a trap. I shouldn't get my hopes up. It HAS to be a trap.
It just has to be...
((Heyyy guyyys am i doing it right
Also someone remind me if the doors here are slidey doors or hingey doors))
((It doesn't matter
And yes, you're doing it right, although you should probably have Finn catch up with our crew before they get off the premises))
And yes, you're doing it right, although you should probably have Finn catch up with our crew before they get off the premises))
Finn dashed through the halls after retrieving his dagger from Perkn's office. His confusion only increased as he occasionally saw guards lying unconscious in the hall, and strange craters and puddles of water in odd places. And then there were the guards buried, almost comically, up to their necks in the ground. What was up with that?
Had a prisoner escaped and released him? No, that was unlikely. Perkn took special care to guard against any kind of magical prisoner escaping.
But his hopes still rose in spite of himself as he ran through the bleak halls, then there was the exit, the glorious glorious exit...
And then he was outside. The warm sun shone down on his pale face. When was the last time he had seen the sky? The birds? Several months...or was it years?...
But his thoughts were interrupted by the scene in front of him.
A young, chestunt-haired girl was leaning against a charred tree. Another girl with short, pretty hair and gleaming red eyes lay on the ground, breathing heavily. Two guys that seemed to be around his age stood nearby.
A rather large puddle of - was that molten metal? - pooled around them.
Finn gaped.
"What the heck?"
((zeeeeeeelda and fraaaaaaaaaankie need to get on))
James and Thomas spun around in an instant, their fingers flicking out as they reflexively (as in it's an instant reflex) used their powers. James had sunk the feet of whoever-it-was into the ground up to their ankles before he realized that it was a boy, about his age, with a startled expression on his face.
"Who are you?" Thomas asked, his eyes narrowing.

Before he knew it, Finn's feet had been firmly rooted into the ground. The lighter-skinned boy was fixing him with a steely glare. The brown-haired one had his arm outstretched, eying him suspiciously.Finn sucked in a sharp breath. Magic, he thought. Of course...
He summoned a glare of his own and shot it back at the two. "What's it to you? And what are you doing here, anyway?"
Marina held her breath, whipping around to gawk at the white-haired boy but not wanting to get involved in the intensity of a duel at the moment. (She's still recovering from her bout with helping Raven.)((What are we gonna do now? Just get out of the compound and then what? Lucy, you chose a bad time to jump in, we're just about to the end. Maybe after we finish you can jump into that other element story, the one based in NYC. What was it called again? Trust No One? I think that's it.))
((You should throw in some more plot yourself, Lucy, if you want to keep this alive.
WHY DID YOU MAKE FINN A JERK
WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY))
"What it is to us is that you just ran out of a compound that has held nothing but trouble for us," Thomas snapped. "And it's none of your business why we're here. Anyway, we asked you first."

Raven lit her hand on fire and made her way towards the new kid. "Besides, if you don't tell us who the f*ck you are, I may just go a little pyro on you, starting with that lovely hair of yours..." After going through all the torture and hell in that building, she was not gonna be nice to any new person, especially one coming from that accursed place.
((lol i love you guysI'll throw in some more plot later, after everyone beats Finn up.))
Finn leaned back and folded his arms across his chest. "So, you have magic," he growled. "Were you prisoners in this place too, or what?"
"We aren't answering anything until you give me a reason not to melt you right now." It'd better be a good one, too... She took another step closer.
"Raven," James said. He walked up to her and put a hand on her shoulder and gave her a look. ((Not a mean look, but a 'please don't do this' look.))
Raven saw his eyes and took a breath. She put out her hand and hid her face in his chest. She didn't say anything, but she was truly sorry.
((awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww))Finn raised an eyebrow and let out a breath. Well. I take my first step outside and narrowly miss getting my face roasted off.
He turned to the boy. "So, uh, are you gonna let me out of the ground now?"
((ya rlyWhoa when did your post get there it was not there when I saw it whoaaaaa
Also how did you get onto Goodreads Bobbie I thought it was blocked or something))
((Pssh... stole my dad's laptop w/out my mom knowing))
James held Raven tight and gave the strange boy a warning look. "No. We still don't know who you are."
"I could find out, if he doesn't want to tell us," Thomas offered.

Marina spoke quietly, "Just make sure to seal up the hole as quickly as possible, we don't want the monster to follow us."
