"Okay," James said awkwardly. "You'd better hold onto me, to make sure that doesn't happen again..."
Raven nodded, her heart pounding against her chest. She took his hand, hoping she wouldn't do anything...stupid.
James led the way into the next room, which was deserted too. He looked into the next room - empty. There were two other doors to go through, but they were both closed.
((Sadly, Thomas doesn't know much about computers, or else he would be able to "hack" the robot and have it be friendly. Let's see if we can confuse it...))
"IDENTIFY YOURSELF," the robot commanded.
Thomas gulped. "Um... Perkn," he said, trying to make his voice sound deeper.

"A puddle of water," replied Marina, summoning a small amount of water to wet the obscured robot's feet, hoping to confuse the slate being.
"There are two doors, both closed," James said. He squatted and put his hand on the ground. "If there are people on the other side of them, they aren't moving. But that might mean that they're just standing in wait."
The robot appeared to pause. "WHAT?" it rumbled.
"Robot, do you know why you have been activated?" Thomas said, hoping that he sounded older than he was.
The robot's head swiveled to him. Its red eyes swept him up and down. "NO. YOU ARE NOT PERKN."
"Yes I am," Thomas said stoutly. "Why have you been activated?"

Raven nodded. She was about to say something when suddenly the pain in her shoulder got too great. She winced, blood dropping onto the ground from her arm.
Marina sunk to a squat. She feared the robot's menacing gaze and hoped deeply that it did not have freezing powers."For emergency services." A mechanical voice. "The emergency switch was pulled."
Not wanting to make any noise, Marina poked Thomas in the leg and formed letters in her puddle.
I
THINK
we HAVe
aN EMERGENCy
Now, Marina hoped the robot couldn't read.
((What is Thomas supposed to do?))
"That's right," Thomas said, quickly reading Marina's message. "Well, at least you're running properly."
"What is your emergency?" the robot asked.
"That's right," Thomas said, quickly reading Marina's message. "Well, at least you're running properly."
"What is your emergency?" the robot asked.
"Not funny," James said, kneeling next to her. He pushed back her sleeve and tore off his outer shirt ((the button-up, he has a t-shirt underneath)). Metal filing cabinets were still lying around nearby; he ripped off a jagged piece from one easily and used it to cut his shirt into strips. Working quickly, he tied the strips of cloth around Raven's arm.
((Um, uh, command the robot?))Thoughts rushed through Marina's head. Their friend was blind, Thomas couldn't use magic, and..." Marina looked up at Thomas's blank face. She filled in: "Magic has been disabled."
The robot blinked. "Magic has been disabled," it repeated.
"Yes," Thomas said, suddenly getting an idea. "Someone has infiltrated the compound and disabled the use of all magic within the area. This infiltrator is pretending to be me. Perkn," he added in case the robot didn't understand. "Your objective is to find this impostor and neutralize him, and enable the use of magic again."

Perkn," he added in case the robot didn't understand. "Your objective is to find this impostor and neutralize him, and enable the use of magic again."
((Neutralize?))The robot nodded, waving red lazers up and down.
Marina thought, then added, "Go." What if the robot catches Thomas? she thought despairingly.
((Neutralize, yeah - doesn't have to be kill, though))
The robot switched off its lasers. "Do you have a starting point?" it asked mechanically.
--
"That should staunch the flow, at least," James said. "Are you gonna be okay?"

Raven nodded. She stood up, hand in his, and suddenly felt really dizzy. Before she knew it, she was sprawled across the ground. She'd lost too much blood to be moving that fast.
"Ah, crap!" James just managed to soften the ground as Raven fell down. "What happened? Are you okay?"
James put a hand on Raven's forehead, then felt her pulse. "Wow, your heart's going really fast... but it feels so weak..."
"Thanks...for stating the...obvious..." Raven managed, sweating a little. She suddenly had the urge to fall asleep.
Standing up, Marina bit her lip and looked at Thomas. "Perkn's office." Her voice was commanding.((But what does 'neutralize' mean?))
Stiffly, the slate robot walked through the pink and yellow smoke and made it's way towards Perkn's private office. "Do we follow it?" Marina asked Thomas with a gaze.
Thomas shrugged. "I guess we should, too make sure it doesn't wander off and start destroying James and Raven," he murmured. "C'mon..."
--
Help, help, someone please help, James thought desperately. He pressed his hand against Raven's wound in an effort to keep it from staying open, ignoring the blood that seeped from the cloth onto his hand. Someone, anyone, help me!

((Should the robot help James and Raven?))Marina followed Thomas with his white blond hair as they tracked the robot. She still couldn't quite pinpoint whether it was evil or not.
Raven passed out, her skin extremely pale. Her breath and heartbeat began to get a little faster. She was going into shock.
((Yeah, at some point...))
Suddenly Thomas gasped and staggered backwards. "James..." he mumbled.
Suddenly Thomas gasped and staggered backwards. "James..." he mumbled.
((Have her wake up, then!! I don't want poor James embarrassed without Raven saying she loves him just as much!!!))
"No," James moaned. "No, Raven, please wake up... please... I can't lose you..." Tears started sliding down his face.
"No," James moaned. "No, Raven, please wake up... please... I can't lose you..." Tears started sliding down his face.
Raven slowly opened her eyes, and saw his tears. She was beyond weak, she could barely breathe. And with the feel of her blood dripping down her arm and into a puddle below her...well, it terrified her.
James, his eyesight blurred by tears, didn't notice Raven waking up. "I can't lose you Raven," he whispered. "Not when I've just found... you..." ((The "you" is loaded with meaning!!!))
When Raven heard him say that, she almost cried. Her heart suddenly felt heavy, and she took in a pained breath before saying,"James...I...I won't ever leave your side...not now at least..."
((Umm... three days is how long they've known each other. Yeah. Just for my peace of mind...))
"Raven! I... uh..." James blushed a deep red. "I... I won't leave you, either. Ever."
((So. Freaking. SAPPY.))

((AAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!!!! *bangs head on wall*))
Raven smiled lightly, and then winced, her shoulder killing her--almost literally.

((Ughhhh... I'm not going to wait any longer. Sorry, Frankie...))
"Shh," James said softly, stroking Raven's hair. "Just stay still..." He took his hand off of Raven's hair and put it on the ground and closed his eyes. "I'm going to try and find Thomas and Marina now, okay?"
