Saving the World...Again
((hmmm...how about 25?))
James closed his eyes and reached for the remote. He could picture the diagram Marina had copied very clearly. He reached with magic and summoned the exact pattern of the metal that was the remote.
Zip! Ping! Zip! Ping! Zip! Ping!
James watched with wide eyes as no less than twenty-five remotes rocketed through his illusion wall, hit the real wall, and landed in his lap.

Marina shut her eyes tightly as a loud buzzing sound filled the air. When it stopped, she opened her eyes to see a pile of remotes sitting in James's lap. Wide-eyed, she picked up one and pressed the largest button, nothing happened. "What do we do now?" she mouthed, unable to form words in her shock.
James was shaken, too, although he didn't show it. "I'm not sure," he admitted. "Do you still have that diagram in your notebook?"
Marina nodded. Of course she still had the drawing. What was she going to do... ditch her notebook? Marina immediately produced the notebook from her pocket and promptly flipped it open to the page with the drawing of the remote. She was glad she was a fast sketcher. And a pretty accurate one, too.
"Great," James muttered, looking the diagram over. "I didn't think Perkn would make a bunch of the same remotes, but I guess he has a lot more things to unlock then just Thomas's chair."
Marina nodded halfheartedly. She was preoccupied in her thoughts... Just what else might Perkn have to do with those remotes?((Does this mean the story's going to end soon? If James is about to save Thomas?))
((...maybe...but we can continue it, like with getting back home and stuff, if you want))
"Okay," James said, "so what it looks like is that this is the same basic design for each remote, but this part, here," he pointed to the transmitter on the diagram, "transmits a different wavelength for each lock. I'm not sure how that helps us, though."

Marina could hardly understand what James was talking about so she responded slowly, "So... do you know how to tell which one will work for Thomas's restraints?"
Marina set the remote she had picked up earlier aside and grabbed another one. "I guess we'll just have to unleash every prisoner in the place," she said skeptically, pushing the big central red button on this one as well. I wonder if there is a distance limit for these... Marina thought. She was, after all, uncertain about whether her plan would work or not.
James closed his eyes briefly. "Great." But he also grabbed up remotes and started pushing their buttons.

Thomas had almost settled into a light doze when, with a loud click the metal restraints on his arms and legs popped off. He looked down in surprise and then smiled and stood up, rubbing feeling back into his wrists. "Raven, wake up!"

When the pile of remotes had shifted, Marina blinked and stood up. "Let's go find Thomas," she said, already getting to her feet.
((I'm not saying his remote was the last one, but James and Marina wouldn't be able to hear the resounding click from their position.))

Raven opened her eyes, and looked over in his direction, slightly worried. "Is everything okay? Are we under attack?! What?!"
"No," Thomas said, grinning. "James must've somehow found the unlocking thing for my chair. I'm free! Let's get out of here!"
--
"Yes, lets," James agreed, getting to his feet. He suddenly felt dizzy and nearly fell over. His vision was going all gray and a buzzing noise sounded in his ears. "What..." he whispered.
((btw, he's just so exhausted that he's passing out. Nothing else.))

"Okay." Raven said, nodding. She stood up, and then stopped."Wait...if the chair is unlocked, does that mean we can use magic around you, now?"
"No," Thomas said, shutting his eyes briefly. He touched his upper arm absently and flinched at the pain. "The chip that...that cancels out magic is in my arm."
"Yeah..." Thomas said, suddenly worried. He had no idea how to find James and Marina in this labrynith of an underground building, and no way to defend himself and Raven if they came across any guards.
"Oh. Well don't be too worried. I can kick the guards @$$'s and you could keep me from running into random walls! And besides, we could always interrogate them." Raven said, shrugging.
"Sure..." Thomas said, smiling a bit. Cautiously he leaned out of the doorway of his prison to make sure that no one was in the hallways. Then he turned left and started walking, keeping ahold of Raven.
Marina gaped in horror as James slumped into a pile before her eyes. "Um. James?" When James did not respond, Marina reached out her arms and took hold of James's. She hoped she would be able to find Thomas. They better be nearby, thought Marina, biting her lip, I don't think I can drag James that far... Marina's thoughts trailed off as she focused on finding Raven and Thomas ((What about Shay?)).((Can there be a trickle of water wherever Raven and Thomas are? Please?))
((Yeah, sure.))
I have to wake up, James thought slowly. Why did I faint, again? Could it be...because I don't have any energy? He pondered this for a moment or so, then thought, Maybe I can get energy from the rocks. ... Do rocks have energy? He thought for another minute. Am I being dragged? ...Who's dragging me?
...I need to wake up.
--
Thomas made another couple of random turns. He thought it odd that he hadn't seen any gaurds at all.

Marina concentrated, searching for water she could use for strength so she could continue pulling James. As her eyelids flittered with weariness, she saw some water. And by it, just a reflection, was Raven... and... Thomas. He had white-blond hair, wild blue eyes... just as James had described him. Marina wanted that water to stay there because, with it, she could navigate blindly. She closed her eyes and tightly gripped James's left hand knowing where she was going only by the image of the trickle of water leading towards Raven that shone sharply in her mind.((Oh... I know why there aren't any guards about. They're all trying to find James and Marina in the secret chamber.))
Raven walked silently beside Thomas, holding his hand as they took the turns. This is....weird. I haven't heard any movement other than us.....
((Umm... have Thomas notice it. I need you guys to follow it so Marina can find you 'cause she's following it from the other end.))Marina continued to follow the trickle which had now appeared at her feet. It was growing smaller behind her as she used its energy to keep hold of James.
Thomas looked down and noticed water trickling down the hallway. "Weird..." he said. "Did a toilet overflow or something?" Immediately he pictured the evil Perkn frantically pushing a plunger into an overflowing toilet and snickered loudly.
--
I have to wake up, James thought again. Fuzzily he felt his power drifting down into the ground, deeper and deeper. Something please give me energy...

Raven smirked. She accidentally stepped into the stream, and then immediately pulled back. She had heard voices...Marina's voice... "That's Marina's magic right there." Raven said hurriedly.
((Waitasec...does Thomas know Marina?))
James sensed an immense source of warmth approaching his power. When he reached it, energy surged through him. His eyes shot open and he gasped. "I feel like my blood is boiling," he moaned to no one in particular.

((I don't think so... (to the Thomas and Marina)_))Marina flinched. James was conscious once more. As James sat breathing heavily before her, Marina pondered this for a second... There was too much... magic. His, or hers, or Ravens, or... could it be Thomas's? But there was no wind. Maybe it was the stillness, could Thomas be causing something?
((I think it would be cool if Thomas was the source of the power. But he can't do magic right now, so...))
((Well, i was originally thinking of, like, molten lava, but it would be cool if Thomas was the source. And just because he can't use magic right now doesn't mean he doesn't have any...))
"Who's Marina?" Thomas asked.
--
"Marina," James said, focusing on his friend. "What happened? Where are we?"

"Marina," James said, focusing on his friend. "What happened? Where are we?"
"She's the older girl who's with James right now, she can control water...And that's her magic. We need to follow the stream," She said hastily.
Thomas looked at Raven sideways, forgetting that she couldn't see the skepticism on his face. "Are you sure it isn't a trap or something?"
"I'm very sure, Thomas. I heard Marina's voice, and it sounded urgent. We need to follow it, okay?" Raven said, not looking at him.
"Okay. It's going this way..." Thomas took Raven's hand again and started following the trickle of water.
Raven walked with him, hoping they didn't lose too much time doing this. If only she could see...Then they'd be able to get there faster!
"You fainted." Marina paused in her reply and looked to James solemnly. "And we're finding Thomas and Raven. They're at the other end of this baby river." Then Marina realized she was still gripping James's arm mightily. "Can you walk now?"
"I think so." James stood up, steadying himself against Marina. He felt a bit dizzy, but that soon passed. "Let's see...yep, I can walk."

((James should end up with a pile of remotes at his feet. How many should there be? 10? 15? 20? 100?))
