"No." Marina said firmly. "I'll come with you. I can summon water if absolutely necessary, and, if worst comes to worst I can be a distraction so that you can work with the dirt and stuff. Besides, all we're doing is looking for a remote control... so why should I need water? I mean other than to hydrate myself." Then, seeing the worried look on James's face, Marina took an empty water bottle out of her backpack and putting it against the ground, summoned water from the underground chamber to fill it up.
"Okay, if you're sure," James said. "We'll lose the element of surprise as soon as we go through the door, so be ready to kick some @$$ as soon as we enter."
((The "straps" are metal, I don't think a knife can cut them...))
"Okay," James whispered, putting one hand on the door. "Ready...set...GO!!!" He flung the door open, all the locking mechanisms falling away, and had the first three guys who started toward him immobilized, their feet covered by cement.

Marina dashed in before the opening disappeared. Soon, she felt trapped, she was right up against a stone wall, three angry guards staring straight at her... and James.Realizing immediately that what James had stated earlier was true, Marina knew that this was not a good place to work water magic. Feeling like more of a burden than a helper, Marina searched her mind for something that could make her seem useful. Finally striking an idea, Marina pulled out a memo pad and a miniature mechanical pencil... they went together (at least in Marina's mind). Mind racing, Marina began frantically sketching the nearby terrain. She put a star by the now 'sealed' entrance and sketched the outline of the surrounding walls. Of course, there were long halls stretched out in every direction, so, using the compass always stored in her pocket, Marina labeled them: East Hall, North Hall, South Hall, West Hall, and Northwest Hall. Each "hall" would be shown in greater detail on a separate page, which would, of course, be labeled.
[Believe it or not Marina is a very organized person... kind of. She has just about everything she could possibly need in that bag of hers... but she can't always find what she is looking for. Of course, that set aside, she has wonderful navigational skills, always has her pencil and paper together, and labels every single part of her maps (she can write very small).:]
((So James gets to fight everybody while Marina makes a map? Idungettit...))
While the guys might not be able to move, they still had guns, and James had to use all of his newly honed reflexes to dodge the bullets that were flying everywhere. Marina! She was just standing there, not even doing anything...James growled in the back of his throat and pulled up a wall to shield her from the attackers. Then he executed an almost-perfect handspring that ended in a cartwheel-type move and kicked the weapons out of the mens' hands. They stared at James with wide-open eyes. One of them whimpered in fear.
"Ugh," James said disgustedly. "No backbone at all..." He turned around and lowered Marina's wall. "This is just the entry chamber," he told her. "Perkn and all the high-security stuff is probably past that door..." James gestured toward the door at the far end of the room.

((Marina can't do anything to them while they are stuck in the dirt!!! That's James's strong suit. She will help... just not yet.))
Marina looked up to where James was pointing. Immediately, she scrawled "Entry Chamber" across the center of the page. Then, drawing a square with a small circle near the top of the page (the entrance to the East Hall), she scribbled "Perkn".((Yes, I know, North is normally at the top. But Marina mapped first and then put in the compass rose... she's not insane. Also... are the guards still stuck in the ground? And... do we still have to fight those three guards? Plus, Marina is drawing maps to help her and James get out.))

((D@MMIT!!!!!))
((Well, I can't help that one bit. Raven's blind. It's Shay's fault. Hmph.))

((fine. I shall delete all things referring to cutting off Thomas's straps.
Frankie, the peeps are indeed still stuck in the ground, and disarmed, and scared out of their wits of James, so they shouldn't be a problem.))
James readied himself to spring through the door, much like before, but it suddenly swung open. James had a glimpse of the same man who had taken Thomas away from that abandoned warehouse before something stung his neck. He clapped a hand to it, felt a dart, and then everything went black.

Marina's eyes widened. Ordering herself to show no fear, but only shock, Marina refrained from trembling.((The question is... should Marina fight or make a mad dash for the now open door? Ah... ))
Knowing that she could not leave James to suffer whatever brutal punishment Perkn had in mind, Marina made a weak shield over herself. I was not enough to dehydrate her and just enough to protect her from his darts.
The big man glared at her with his cold, tawny brown eyes. Unwilling, still, to show her immense fear, Marina thrust her notebook into the pocket of her blue-jeans, and hid the miniature pencil within her fist.
Wanting to show initial weakness so that Perkn would use less force, Marina approached and kicked just before she could reach him. This weak kick had caused a small dust cloud to arise. Seizing her chance, Marina jumped as high as she could and nailed Perkn in his left eye with her pencil (she was using her right hand). Grossing out at the slime that now lined her precious pencil, Marina stuffed that, too into her denim pocket.
Perkn slapped his hands over his face, but did not retreat. He kicked, hard, bruising Marina left thigh. It would leave her with a limp, but she had done her jumping for now. Still, Marina wanted to show weakness. Attempting to prove that the jab to his eye was simply luck, Marina swung her left arm his stomach. Of course, she couldn't miss, but Marina's non-dominant arm was not nearly as strong as her right.
A badly timed kick, a jab to his left eye, and a very weak punch to his stomach, Perkn was beginning to get confused, and Marina knew it.
((Sorry about the long post...
What exactly does the dart do? I mean, other than knock its victim unconscious.))

Raven felt for a lock on the strap, but found nothing. "D@mn." She looked up in Shay's direction, and then said,"One of us has to stay here, and I can't see, so you're gonna have to go, Shay. Can you do that?"
Raven nodded. She then sat down next to Thomas, and let out a breath. She was still exhausted, but she wouldn't show that. Not to James, at least.
((the darts? render the victim temporarily unable to use their power...))
"Something wrong, boss?" A small, skinny man poked his head out from behind Perkn and gasped at the sight of Marina's attack. ((This dude can control earth, but not metal, 'kay?))
Thomas sighed and leaned back in his chair. "I'm so d@mn upset that I have to keep getting freaking rescued," he muttered.

Raven looked up in his direction, and then said,"Get used to it. Everyone's gonna go through this at some point."
"I never said anything about liking it. I don't like the fact I can't act on my own. I have to have someone guiding me like some little pooch. It's really unnerving." Raven said, clutching her fist.
Marina looked at the skinny man that had just come from the eastern corridor. There was something about him that reminded her of James... but this boy seemed weaker and, definitely, less friendly. Marina wondered whether he would run to find recruits. She figured he would. Marina quickly began attacking the small guy, and, just as she was knocking him out cold, Perkn hit her with a strong blow.
Jaw in immense pain, Marina turned to face Perkn. She hoped she could do this.
((Is James going to wake up anytime soon? Also, I'm using my mother's iPhone, so I'm sorry about any mistakes. I'll fix them by Monday July 12th.))
Raven looked over in Thomas's direction, and then said,"No. If I told him, he'd be distracted. And I don't want anyone other than me telling him."
"Well, he was found near my orphanage, and said something about having parents. At the time, I didn't really care about him, for it was my birthday, and I was busy trying to get the h*ll outta there. And I guess while I escaped, so did he. Anyways, things happened, and here we are."
Raven let out a groan, and then said,"Okay, so here's more of the story..." She explained everything to the best of her ability, and then finally said,"And here we are."
Looking up at the tall man before her, Marina pondered what she could do, without much effort, that would give her an advantage. Marina stared fiercly at Perkn, and flooded the area directly beneath his feet. As he stepped forward for another hit, he slipped an fell with a thud. Without using much water, Marina had knocked Perkn to the floor.
Quickly, Marina pounced onto Perkn. While he was stationed on the floor she would have a definite advantage. Now on top of the half blind man, Marina edged to Perkn's left side. If he couldn't get a clear view of her, all he could do was judge by the distribution of weight. Marina pummelled his entire torso with her fists and her left foot. She kept Perkn's chubby left arm pinned to the ground with her right foot. Unable to stand, Perkn did what little damage he could with his colossal right arm.
Then, Marina got an idea. She edged down Perkn's body, just past his belt. Reaching into his pocket, Marina stole his stash of darts. She chose a blue one and thrust it at his neck.
((If the remote is metal, can't James just summon it? I mean, once he can use his powers again.))
((Uh...probably. Boy, I'm smart....))
"Quite an adventure," Thomas commented. "And so now you have a crush on James?"
--
James slowly came to conciousness (sp?) realizing that he was lying in a puddle of water. With a groan he opened his eyes, half-expecting to see scary "hospital" equipment and people with scalpels looming over him. Instead, he had a sideways view of Marina lying on top of an...unconcious? Perkn, and a boulder poised above her.
"MARINA!!" James yelled, suddenly realizing the imminent threat. As the boulder dropped, James gave it a shove with his mind at the same time, so that it narrowly missed her, instetad leaving a crater in the concrete ground.

((It's consciousness/unconscious. (You forgot the 's' before the 'c'.) What's the boulder?))Marina rushed over to James, hoping that the dart was strong enough to harm a man of Perkn's size. She saw the puncture wound where the horrid dart had fallen from James's neck. She quickly poured some water over it and then taped a cotton swab atop it. "Keep that cotton swab in place." Marina cautioned, knowing it would work as well as a band-aid.
((Just how big is this Perkn guy? I got the impression that he was at least six-and-a-half feet tall, probably about seven.))
((Yeah, Shay will be trapped outside...and the boulder was caused by the guy who can control rock, not metal, who has fled back into the other rooms beyond the entry chamber...okay, and idk how big Perkn is. Very big. Godzilla big. Get the picture?))
James winced as he pushed himself upright. "'Kay." As he straightened up, he felt suddenly dizzy and staggered to the side, where he knew a wall was.
--
Thomas rolled his eyes. "Yeah, right! I've heard how you sound when you talk about him. And, in case you haven't noticed you're blushing. And you smile at just the mention of his name."

"Ugh......" Raven said, looking down. "Next thing I know I'm wearing pink with barbie blond hair and eyeliner...."
"Do that and you'll never get James to like you," Thomas said dryly. "If I know him -- and I do -- he probably loves that goth-chick look you've got."
((I thought Marina knocked the earth/non-metal guy unconscious.))Marina looked at James warily. This was going to be difficult. This was the place where James should have been able to get by easily; where Marina would have some trouble. But here they were, James had just regained consciousness and Marina had just knocked out two people... by brute force.
"If the remote thing is in Perkn's office then it's in the eastern corridor. When the skinny person came he swung the door open really wide. I saw a desk and lots of papers..." Marina paused to be sure James was listening. "Should we go?" Marina bit her lips as she waited for what seemed like an eternity to hear James's reply.
