Don Beckman | 1 comments The book was about a forest service ranger who worked in a fire tower part of the time as a smoke watcher, and flew a plane doing the same thing.

It was based in the Pacific Northwest, and it involved something with a Dam being built, and people were trying to sabotage the process so they could raid an abandoned mine of some sort.

Nice to know there's more than one YA book about a forest ranger!

This is a forest ranger story.

Forest patrol by Jim Kjelgaard
When old Ranger Fred Cramer is temporarily re-assigned to another area, he appoints young John as his replacement. John gets involved in chasing poachers, stocking trout, fire fighting, nuisance bears and a water pollution investigation and never has a dull moment in between.

Don hasn't posted on GR since 2010 so I'm moving this to Abandoned.
