Sean (conversational1) | 5 comments Is this Book Club still active? If so, what's coming up (book, meeting time/locations)?

message 2: by Erika (new)

Erika (belicia) | 6 comments That's a great question...I just joined recently too...anybody?

message 3: by Kim (new)

Kim (kimmyliz2) | 7 comments maybe time to make it active? i'm moving up from kenosha this summer, i'd be in to jumpstart this group

message 4: by Sean (new)

Sean (conversational1) | 5 comments As would I. Don't know where to start (never done this) and without the admin's permission we'd probably have to start our own group to do much on the Goodreads but we could probably invite everyone from this group. If we can get a few more people and some book ideas then we could sort out a public location and such.

Erika (belicia) | 6 comments Sounds great friends! We could also move around to various coffee shops or parks (if weather cooperates).

Hey all! I'm the admin of the group. We had a group going about 1.5-2years ago and then it kind of just tapered off as we all got busy. I'd be up for trying to organize something again. I'm part of another bookclub and could invite people from there as well.

Sounds great! What's May look like for everyone? Or shoot for June? Have a preferred day of the week? Any book suggestions?

I really want to read "Three Cups of Tea." Has anyone already read that?

message 12: by Kim (new)

Kim (kimmyliz2) | 7 comments I'm good most days except for Mondays. I'm finishing up Consider the Lobster by David Foster Wallace and just bought Infinite Jest - but that might be a pretty epic book for a first time book club book. I also picked up On Beauty by Zadie Smith, so that's another suggestion.

[Sidebar: I'm still looking for an apartment - anyone have any leads on a 1BR for me?]

Kim, I may be renting a room in my house. When are you moving? LOL. Random, I know. My current roommate's lease ends at the end of May.

message 15: by Kim (new)

Kim (kimmyliz2) | 7 comments Found a place, move date is June 1, I'll be on the lower east side. Where is everyone else coming from, where is a good place to meet? Bookstore, bar, coffee shop? Want to pick a book or maybe just pick a date to meet and we could bring some book suggestions to that first get-together?

message 16: by Dawn (new)

Dawn (dizzyhipp) Hi everyone, I just joined! I am so excited to meet! I finish school in one week and I have so many books I want to read! I also meet on the east side, but I can meet anywhere! Just let me know what to read!

message 17: by Erika (new)

Erika (belicia) | 6 comments I am on the south side...St. Francis to be exact.
I'm down with all of the suggestions: bar, bookstore, coffee shop...library, park :)

message 18: by Erika (new)

Erika (belicia) | 6 comments Should we shoot for a month to start? A day to meet?

message 19: by Kim (new)

Kim (kimmyliz2) | 7 comments yes, please! maybe june? here, i'll suggest a handful of days that happen to work for me, and let's try to get some consensus - maybe, reply with the sub-set of dates for which you are also available?

message 21: by Dawn (new)

Dawn (dizzyhipp) What book will we be reading? My schedule is random... so I cannot predict if I will be working or not, but I am usually free at night.

message 22: by Erika (new)

Erika (belicia) | 6 comments I think our suggestion is "Three Cups of Tea"

message 23: by Sean (new)

We officially have a Facebook group page now! Look up "Brew City Book Club" and become a member. We'll post the events on this page too. Figured Facebook may be an easier place. Thanks! ~Tascha
