Isaiah 40:31

message 4: by Nikita (last edited Apr 13, 2010 08:00PM) (new)

Nikita (cathi_v) I really like the ones that are pure poetry/insight, like Wisdom 17:12-13
"For fear is nought but the surrender of the helps that come from reason;
and the more one's expectation is of itself uncertain,
the more one makes of not knowing the cause that brings on torment."

And like Wisdom 17: 18 as well
"And were it only the whistling wind,
or the melodious song of birds in the spreading branches,
Or the steady sound of rushing water,
or the rude crash of verthrown rocks,
Or the unseen gallop of bounding animals
or the roaring cry of the fiercest beasts
Or an echo resounding from the hollow of the hills."

she does :D

love that one from john . . .

i also like this passage from matthew, where peter is walking on the water toward Christ, and how when he starts to sink Christ just reaches out and grabs him :)

"But when he saw the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, “Lord, save me.” Jesus immediately reached out his hand and took hold of him, saying to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” (Matthew 14:30-31)

Esther is cool.

She was so brave.

One time at my old church though we had to do a musical on the story. So not only were we learning it but we were singing choruses like "Esther-ordinary day" or "like the queen of persia show your versia of Esther-ordinary faith."
(versia=version it just rhymes better with persia."

He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty. 36But as I told you, you have seen me and still you do not believe. 37All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away. 38For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me. 39And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all that he has given me, but raise them up at the last day. 40For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day."
