Thud thud thud thud (that's my heart going into overdrive)I really hope that's real! But judging by the comments, the post is at least eight months old-- you'd think we'd have heard something more about it by now.
Maybe! *OR*...they may be just be composing the screenplay; who knows? *crosses fingers* I *hope* it's real!!! THAT WOULD BE SO COOL!! Then "The Children of Hurin" could finally be brought to life!! (maybe)
Boy oh boy that would be great! I wonder how they'd address the creation of Ea (the world that is). They'd need a really really good movie music dude for the whole creation bit- as the Earth is sung into being and whatnot. Oh boy ohboyohboy! And I really am excited about seeing the Valar and the Maiar and all that good stuff. And they'd better to a good job on Glaurung- that nasty mean dragon. And that hound what's his name that helps Beren and Luthien. I loved that dog.
OH ME TOO!! I cried when Huan died! :'( The story I can't wait for is the tale of Maeglin and his father Eol the Dark Elf and Aredhel (I think her name is)--Maeglin's parents. :D that was an interesting story, especially when it got to Idril and...Earendil's? marriage and the destruction of Gondolin. :D :D :D love that one!
Gee I'd better reread the Silmarillion. I'm having trouble keeping all the names straight! I think it's so cool that Glorfindel got resurrected after dying while fighting a Balrog during the evacuation of Gondolin. Makes you wonder if maybe Tolkien had a bigger role in mind for him in the Lord of the Rings, but didn't have time to fit him in. I mean most dead elfs, after spending some time in the Halls of Mandos, get rebodied and go straight to Valinor, and usually only those with uncompleted major jobs in Middle Earth get sent back there.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
Sorry, I'm just uber excited. It's my favorite of all the books.

JINX! 12345 you owe me a Coke! LOL
Oh yes indeed! Very well! :D
aye...it'll go straight through the nose. xD
It's true. My mom used to tell me that story, of when she laughed while drinking milk and her brother got it in the face... ah families.

As well you should be... but I suppose it's pardonable. It's much heavier reading than the LOTR trilogy.

many a good adventure is to be had by reading it...and then i suggest going back and rereading the trilogy, personally it makes it much more *real* knowing a little more indepth history about what you are reading...and isnt all of our greatest wishes to trod upon the hollowed ground of Middle Earth :) (corney moment, gotta love it)
(whoot for Corney moments!)
Yeah, I've been planning on reading the series in chronological order. :P That is...after I finish going through the giant pile of books on my plate.

We all wouldn't have to do it right this moment, because I'm sure we're all busy, but it'd make a good reminder.
Seriously! i am rereading the trilogy right now and I'm in the Two Towers. I read the Simarillion first so the books suddenly because very easy.
