ABANDONED. YA With Pumpkins on Cover and Protagonist Is Girl Who Lives on a Farm and Is Friends With a Neighbor Boy

I found this book about 10 years ago in the libary on the display shelf and have been thinking about it on and off since I finished it, with not enough info to go on to actually find it.

Anyway, the cover has two young adults on it in a field with big pumpkins and a blue sky overhead. I believe it's historical fiction (though it might not be...). The protagonist is a young girl who lives on a farm. She's good friends with a neighbor boy who at the end of the book she ends up romantically with.

Sorry there's so little to go on...there's a reason I never found it again.

Thanks for the help Leslie! But sadly, that's not it.

I read the book in middle school, so it was published before about 2000, probably in about 1997-99 (it was on the display shelf when I picked it up, so it was probably a new release).

The pumpkins also aren't huge, but are noticeable. And there is definitely a boy and a girl on the cover.
