Mandy (mldavisreads) | 210 comments I just finished The Red Necklace which takes place during the French Revolution. It was written from the point of view of a magician trying to survive as the world around him was falling apart. Really takes the reader into that time period, to see the struggle between the citizens and the aristocracy and the madness as countrymen turned on each other.

Heather Bree (blackdotbug) I read this as part of the fourth reading challenge (still going on, btw). I read it in conjunction with a nonfiction book about the French Revolution, Vive la Revolution: A Stand-up History of the French Revolution, which was enlightening and hilarious and really made The Red Necklace come alive for me. Recommend both.
