Books with Kick-Ass Older Heroines?

I love reading books with main characters who are mature women, but it's not that easy to find that? Specially women who kick ass and take no prisoners. :)

So I started a list and I was wondering what books people could rec to add to it?

The first person that came to mind for me was McGonagall in Harry Potter lol, but she is definitely not a main character.

I added Crocodile on the Sandbank because I think that Amelia Peabody would count, even though she was only "old" by the standards of her time. I think she was in her late 20's early 30's, but she was an official spinster in Victorian times.

Yay! I was torn on whether to add her because of that, but she is my absolute favorite right now. I'm reading
The Hippopotamus Pool where the "intro" is so funny because it starts of with an intro with her claiming she was in her late twenties when she met Emerson, then there's a footnote that goes "Sic?"
Now I'm going to go vote for her.

LOL! By that standard, we should add Soulless too, because Alexia is around the same age and that book is Victorian as well. :)
