Jen (jenforbus) Hi Mystery Lovers! I wanted to let you all know about a tournament on my blog. Today I've announced the 64 top nominated fictional detectives for the "World's Greatest Detective Tournament." There is a bracket and there will be weekly voting to culminate the Week of April 11th when I will be hosting a theme week: "Detectives Around the World."

I hope you'll stop by and check out who's completing. Download a copy of the bracket and follow allow through the tournment. And enter the contest for a chance to win signed books!

You can find the info here:

Hope to see you on the blog!

Joseph (bluemanticore) | 31 comments Jen, at first I thought Sherlock Holmes had to be the winner of this, but your website says this tournament was for the World's FAVORITE Detective. And while Holmes may be the GREATEST, not everyone likes him, so he might not win for the favorite. So which is this tournament for, favorite or greatest?

Jen (jenforbus) I'm sorry Joseph, I wasn't paying attention when I posted...the contest is for the "Favorite" detective. Either term is quite subjective, but since it's more of a popularity vote, I thought "Favorite" would be more appropriate.

The contest entries are being accepted starting today. Entries will only be accepted through Monday...and the first round of voting starts Monday. Hope many of you will stop by:

Jim | 101 comments really a great list and a lot of fun
Thanks Jen for the fun

also the great thing about detecting is that there's no advantage to any particular era while in basketball, the teams that made the Final Four in 1960 couldn't probably make the tournament today

I guess that says humans have gotten bigger, faster, better trained, conditioned but not smarter or more observant than their predecessors were

Jen (jenforbus) I'm so excited you're enjoying it Jim!

Jen (jenforbus) The voting booth is open for the first round of the "World's Favorite Detective" tournament. After one day of voting most of the contests are still anyone's guess, several differing by only a handful of votes. If you haven't had a chance yet, stop by and vote for your favorite detectives:

Round 1 will be open through Friday. Round 2 will kick off on Monday.

Jen (jenforbus) It's time for Round 2. The match-ups are a bit more intense this time around. Voting is open at:

Hope you'll cast your vote and pass the word along.

Jen (jenforbus) Round 3 has opened for voting and the competition is getting stiffer. People are having a harder time voting and the votes are closer. Who from this Sweet Sixteen will advance to the Elite Eight?

Come help your favorite detective stay in the running:
