Lauren stormed into the common room. Why does he always have to ruin everything?! she thought bitterly. She sat down on a yellow armchair by the fire.

After leaving Scorpius, Lauren stepped into the common room. "Hello...? Sorry, I don't know your name," she said.

"I'm Lauren," Lauren said.

Lauren smiled slightly. She sat down on the couch, waiting.

"Third," Lauren replied.

"Right," Lauren said, smiling. Though I wish I was in a different house. She thought of Scorpius.

"That's good," Lauren said absently. "My dad's a professor here."

"I s'pose," she replied. She looked down at her pocket and slipped out the Galleon so Shauna couldn't see it. Lauren stiffened and put it back into her pocket, worried.

Lauren wanted to say 'no' more than anything, but instead she said, "Yeah. Yeah I'm fine."

"I do, but I don't get around to it very much," Lauren replied.

Annabeth walked in and sat on a couch, disgruntled.

Lauren looked up at Annabeth. "Hi!" she said, not wanting to answer Shauna.
