Lynsey A (lovesdarcy) | 170 comments Great thread idea, Danielle!

1. The Prince's Captive Wife
by Marion Lennox 3 stars

2. The Playboy Sheikh's Virgin Stable-Girl by Sharon Kendrick. 2 stars and that was being nice. Read as part of the series I want to finish.

Glad to see you posting your reads, Lynsey!

message 4: by Lynsey A (new)

Lynsey A (lovesdarcy) | 170 comments LOL - no problem Verity! I almost did on Danielle's. :-)

Thanks, Danielle! I'll definitely try to keep it up. I haven't read too many HP's this year (as evidenced above) but I have tons I want to get to! I'm not getting to read as much as I used to but I'm making it work!

Lynsey, I'm trying to read more category books. I made my challenge to read 5 category books a month, so that's helping. I'm enjoying diving back into the HPs.

message 6: by Lynsey A (new)

Lynsey A (lovesdarcy) | 170 comments Wow! What a challenge! I'm so busy these days I don't have a lot of time to read so I doubt I could do 5 a month. I didn't even accept the March challenge because I don't think I'll be able to do it. LOL I hate to start something I can't finish. :)

Yes, sometimes I get on a HP kick and read several back to back.

Well, I have a lot of category romances on my bookshelves from years accumulation. So I'm trying to work on that. Of course, I tend to go for the HPs first, instead of the other ones. :)

message 8: by Lynsey A (new)

Lynsey A (lovesdarcy) | 170 comments 4. The Innocent's Dark Seduction by Jennie Lucas 4 stars. My first read by her and enjoyed it.

I finally got to add 1 more to my list of 2010 HP reads! I'm waaaaay behind Danielle. :)

5. Forced Wife, Royal Love-Child by Trish Morey 4 stars. This was my first read by her as well and enjoyed it too.

I'm getting read to start another book of hers..

6. The Boss's Christmas Baby Another 4* read with Trish Morey.

message 13: by Lynsey A (new)

Vashti | 732 comments Lynsey A wrote: "7. Angel of Darkness 4* Another great oldie from Lynne Graham"

loved that book! seems that her older books are so much better, but I do love her books.

message 15: by Lynsey A (new)

Lynsey A (lovesdarcy) | 170 comments Vashti, I absolutely agree. Her older books really are great!

message 16: by Lynsey A (new)

Lynsey A (lovesdarcy) | 170 comments 8. Caretti's Forced Bride 4* again for a Jennie Lucas book. I'm making her an auto-buy HP author for me!

message 17: by Lynsey A (new)

Lynsey A (lovesdarcy) | 170 comments 9. The Sheikh's Forbidden Virgin 4* read and really a great story. It brought tears to my eyes. Good read.

10. The Greek Billionaire's Innocent Princess 4* again. This Royal House of Karedes series is getting better as they go.

message 18: by Lynsey A (new)

Lynsey A (lovesdarcy) | 170 comments Been forgetting to add these!

11. The Future King's Love-Child 4* read. Another good one by Melanie Milburne. I generally like her books.

12. Ruthless Boss, Royal Mistress 3* read on this one. Read a little more like a plain contemporary romance and not a HP but still decent.

13. The Desert King's Housekeeper Bride 4* read First book by Carol Marinelli and really liked it.

14. Wedlocked: Banished Sheikh, Untouched Queen 4* read. Another good book by Carol Marinelli. Will continue to read her books.

Lynsey A (lovesdarcy) | 170 comments Thanks! I'm working on my HP reads! As I've posted on other posts here I just bought oodles more this weekend! I can't wait to add them on here and then read them later. LOL

Which ones did you buy? Inquiring minds that are insatiably curious. :)

message 22: by Lynsey A (new)

Lynsey A (lovesdarcy) | 170 comments Oh goodness! I've been so tired at night this week I haven't had the chance to add them to GR yet! I promise I will do them this weekend or possibly tomorrow night. Sorry, Danielle!

I got some oldies and goodies along with newbies! :-) I'm tantilizing you I know! Soon! I promise...

Oh it's no rush. I look forward to seeing your haul! Hope you get some rest, Lynsey.

message 24: by Lynsey A (new)

Lynsey A (lovesdarcy) | 170 comments OK, Danielle! I convinced my little sis to get my bag o books from my room. (I'm comfortably ensconsed in my recliner for the evening). :)

Here we go!

The Devil's Shadow - Sally Wentworth
Marriage on Trial by Lee Wilkinson
His Penniless Beauty by Julie James
Androletti's Mistress by Melanie Milburne
A Virgin For The Taking by Trish Morey
The Prince's Chambermaid by Sharon Kendrick (here's hoping it is better than The Playboy Shiekh's Virgin Stable Girl) :)
No More Lonely Nights by Charlotte Lamb
A Marriage Betrayed by Emma Darcy
Too Hot to Handle by Sarah Holland (I don't think I've ever read anything by her before but the book sounded interesting)
The Unlikely Mistress by Sharon Kendrick (see above) :-)

Plus I got two non HP's both of which I think you'll like. LOL

Tempest At Sea (Loveswept, No 17) by Iris Johansen however I have the "Jubilee" version with a yellow cover.

and

Blue Sage by Anne Stuart. But this is the original Harlequin American Romance! I always love to find the originals, you know.

So, there you have it! :)

What an awesome haul, Lynsey! Blue Sage is a great book, IMHO. I was lucky to get a copy of Tempest at Sea at the ubs, no so long ago. Very cool.

High Five, Lynsey!

Thanks, Danielle! I haven't felt well the last couple of nights which is why I've been tired.

But, see above! I have my ways! LOL

Thanks again, Danielle! I was pretty happy with the haul! I went there for one book (ooh, which I forgot to add but it was my latest HP read - see above. LOL) and ended up with all of those! Plus I got the Resident Evil Trilogy on blu-ray for 30 bucks. :-) I know you aren't a big scary movie fan but it was a super find for me!

Awesome, Lynsey. I love the Resident Evil movies. Actually like scary movies, but I don't care for gory stuff, and serial killers/cannibals, etc. I'm excited about the new RE movie because Wentworth Miller is in it!

I hope you feel better!

message 29: by Lynsey A (new)

Lynsey A (lovesdarcy) | 170 comments Ah, I see. Thought you didn't like scary but I can see not lking gore, etc. Can be utterly disturbing.

I love them too! There is just something about them. I always love a kick-ass heroine! :-)

Yes, the 4th one looks interesting. My little sis is a fan of Wentworth Miller.

Gosh, I could marry that man.

I liked to be scared, but sometimes I get too scared. It doesn't keep me away from the thrill of a good creepy story though.

I love kick-butt heroines too!

LOL Ryan Reynolds is the one I could marry. *sigh* He is so beautiful...

Sometimes I like to be scared so that is why I watch scary movies. My boyfriend and his daughter like the Saw movies but those are just too grotesque for me!

Danielle The Book Huntress *Pluto is a Planet!* (gatadelafuente) | 2281 comments Mod
Ryan Reynolds is scrumptious. I don't like movies like Saw. They are too grotesque and show too much human cruelty for my tastes.

message 33: by Lynsey A (new)

Lynsey A (lovesdarcy) | 170 comments Oh he is so scrumptious I could eat him up with a spoon and chocolate on top! Yummy! Yummy!

yeah, I'm not a big fan of those myself. I don't go out of my way to watch them.

I worked with this girl who saw it and said she thought I'd like it. She didn't know me very well. :)

message 35: by Lynsey A (new)

Lynsey A (lovesdarcy) | 170 comments Ugh! Yeah, it's not exactly a "horror film" but more of a "gore film". It is more a "gore/horror film".

message 36: by Danielle The Book Huntress *Pluto is a Planet!*, Harlequin Presents are my crack! (new)

Danielle The Book Huntress *Pluto is a Planet!* (gatadelafuente) | 2281 comments Mod
I don't like 'gore' films. I avoid those and 'torture porn' like the plague.

message 37: by Lynsey A (new)

Lynsey A (lovesdarcy) | 170 comments That's a good idea. Yeah "torture porn" is horrible.

message 41: by Lynsey A (new)

Lynsey A (lovesdarcy) | 170 comments Well, I got pretty far behind in updating this list! Here are the rest of the my 2010 HP reads.

15. Crime of Passion 4* Good old time Lynne Graham
16. The Spaniard's Defiant Virgin 4* another good one by Jennie Lucas
17. The Christmas Love-Child (Snow, Satin and Seduction) another 4* for me by Jennie Lucas.
18. Bought: The Greek's Baby a 5* by Jennie Lucas. She is a must buy for me.
19. His Penniless Beauty this was a 2* for me. I usually enjoy Julia James books but this one didn't really impress me.
20. Tamed: The Barbarian King another 5* for me on a Jennie Lucas book. I found another one of hers I've yet to read so I'm excited!

All caught up now. I've made it to 20 which is more than I thought. Perhaps I can do better next year.

message 43: by Lynsey A (new)

Lynsey A (lovesdarcy) | 170 comments Indeed they were, Danielle. I'm going through my Jennie Lucas books too quickly! Luckily, I believe she has another one coming out soon. I'm sure you already have it since you are a subscriber to the Hp's. =)

Verity | 567 comments Wow, Lynsey, congratz on reaching a milestone in your HP reads. I noticed U're really glomming on Jennie Lucas this year. 6 so far, I'm verra impressed & jealous 'cuz I haven't read any of hers *cone of shame* ;^B

I guess this was sorta Charlotte Lamb year 4 me 'cuz IINM, I've read 17 CL in the last 11 months, w/ 46 books to go (some I haven't recorded on GR shelves).

V, I think you'll like Jennie Lucas. She has the dramatic, almost over the top vibe going on. I'm a fan of hers too.

message 48: by Lynsey A (new)

Lynsey A (lovesdarcy) | 170 comments Thanks, V. I have to agree with Danielle. I too, think you would love Jennie Lucas. She does have some drama.

I actually finished one more yesterday and need to add it here!

21. The French Tycoon's Pregnant Mistress by Abby Green. I haven't reviewed or rated it yet on my currently reading shelf. I think I would have to give this a 3.5*. It was a good read but didn't blow me away.

message 49: by Verity (new)

Verity | 567 comments I gotta make a new year resolution, to read as many new-to-me authors as I can next year to broaden my horizons =)~

No wonder TFTPM's avg ratings = 2.92. As much as I like AG, this will be on the back burner 4 a while.

message 50: by Lynsey A (new)

Lynsey A (lovesdarcy) | 170 comments That's a great resolution, Verity! I haven't thought of one yet. Well, at least in regards to my books. :) Perhaps I will resolve to get all of my books added to Goodreads.

It won't hurt to wait, V. It was good but nothing to run out and read right away when there are others more interesting.
