I really enjoy the show and have watched every season since the very first. A-list stars will never be on that or any other show that requires the time commitment that DWTS requires, but I usually recognize most of the participants. It's fun to watch them improve over the weeks and actually become dancers. And I've really grown to enjoy some of the professional partners as much as the stars.

The Bachelor‘s Vienna to Make Dancing Debut
May 21, 2010
She got engaged to pilot Jake Pavelka on the season finale of The Bachelor in March — but since then Vienna Girardi hasn’t had much time to celebrate since her fiancé immediately immersed himself in rehearsals for Dancing with the Stars.
But now Girardi is getting her chance to dance with her leading man — on the season 10 finale of DWTS Tuesday, pro dancer Chelsie Hightower tells PEOPLE.
“We had our second rehearsal today and surprisingly, Vienna is not nervous at all,” says Hightower, who danced for six weeks with Pavelka during the season. “If it were me, I think I’d be vomiting all night and not sleeping. But Vienna is doing really well and she’s so excited.”
Hightower says that like all of the other season 10 couples, she and Pavelka will take to the floor together and perform one last dance -– theirs is the Viennese Waltz — at the finale.
Girardi and pro Dmitry Chaplin will join them on the floor, “and then Dmitry and I will hand Jake and Vienna over to each other,” Hightower says. “It’s a slow, romantic waltz -– a simulation of a pre-wedding dance.”
While the Pavelka and Girardi have not made any formal wedding arrangements, they do plan to set up residence in Los Angeles when Dancing ends. Hightower says the two make a great pair.
“She’s a great girl,” Hightower says. “They are very happy together.” — Monica Rizzo

I'm interested in seeing Margaret Cho, Rick Fox, and Jenifer Grey, but I have no desire to watch Bristol Palin or David Hasselhoff.

But the big turn off for me is, it's a popularity contest, not a dance competition.

"A rural Wisconsin man apparently enraged by Bristol Palin's "Dancing with the Stars" routine blasted his television with a shotgun, leading to an all-night standoff with a SWAT team, investigators said."

i threw a remote at my tv once...when dylan mckay's fiance antonia was killed by her own father... (beverly hills 90210--the original!) and if i had a shotgun i'd probably would have used it at that time lol (KIDDING!!!!)

I've dropped Dancing with the Stars this year, as it's not a dance competition but rather a popularity contest.
I scream at my TV. Often. LOL

I see there's to be a new show, Skating with the Stars. The only enticement for me to watch it is if I get to see them fall on their asses. LOL In all seriousness, I probably won't bother because I'm sure it'll be more of the same as with Dancing.

Kirstie Alley
Ralph Macchio
Wendy Williams
Sugar Ray Leonard
Hines Ward of the Pittsburgh Steelers
Chelsea Kane
Kendra Wilkinson
wrestler Chris Jericho
rapper Romeo
"Loveline" host Mike Catherwood.

I only know:
Kirstie Alley
Ralph Macchio
Sugar Ray Leonard
wrestler Chris Jericho
I was bored to tears last season but I'm going to watch this one at least until Ralph Macchio gets voted out. Have any of you seen his vid "Wax On, F*cK Off" on YouTube where he pokes fun at himself? It's hilarious.

Wendy Williams is a talk show host, Chelsea Kane I want to say is media isn't she? Not sure about that. Kendra Wilkinson was a Playboy bunny....

On the up side, so are some very good dancers.
ETA: Cast is
Apolo Anton Ohno
Shawn Johnson
Drew Lachey
Emmitt Smith
Helio Castroneves
Kelly "costume malfunction" Monaco
Pamela Anderson
Kirstie Alley
Gilles Marini
Joey Fatone
Bristol Palin
Melissa Rycroft
Plus either Carson Kressley, Kyle Massey, or Sabrina Bryan (voters' choice).

I'll probably kick in my TV if I keep watching this sorry excuse for a popularity contest.

I know it's gonna be a hard season because of so many excellent dancers, but when we have people like Joey going and Bristol staying, it makes me hate the people who are voting because it's not about the dance. What they should do is have two sets of votes, one for the dance, and one for popularity, lol
I have ask though, why is Bristol popular, she's a teen mom with no talents except having a famous mother. At least Kirstie is funny and had a career in entertainment.

Ugh, I'm so sick of politics infiltrating every thing.

She was an atrocious dancer in her own season, and yet made the finals.
It had to have been her mother's fans voting for her, it's the only way the math makes sense.

Some seasons (perhaps the majority) you can make a good prediction of the winner going in, before the first broadcast.

The season when Brooke won was surprising, I have no idea who she was, what she hosts. I really think she won for her dancing, rather than popularity. I wish all the season could be that way.
Did you see when Cloris Leachman was on? I wanted to kick the TV in when she kept coming back.
