What does AWaY stand for? AUTHORS WITHOUT YACHTS.

What is it? A new initiative from the authors at AuthorsAgainste-BookTheft.

This will be a multi-platform networking imitative to get readers and authors working together on the issue of piracy. We'll tell people where to legally purchase e-books, how to spot illegal sellers and sharing networks, how to protect themselves from the scams some pirates use, and we'll answer questions about what is legal or not and why, share our horror stories, and generally interact in a non-threatening and friendly atmosphere. If the pirates invade and get abusive, they will be BANNED. This isn't a shouting match. This is an honest and open sharing situation.

The following groups are populating now. The official launch will be March 1. We're also working on a Twitter, Facebook, and a few others. If you're interested in taking part, click to join. Say that I invited you, and the other mods will approve you.

As authors join and leave comments, I seek them out and add their books to the photo album.

Speaking of E-piracy, the blog site that I started with fellow author, Jeff Erno, will be doing a spread on that subject this coming Friday. I hope at some point we can all put a stop to this.
