Arte Público Press (artepublico) | 1 comments On March 31, Arte Público Press will be releasing two new books featuring Latino culture.

El Salvadoran writer Mario Bencastro presents a new bilingual collection, Paraíso portátil / Portable Paradise, that brings war, violence and Poverty to Life.

Author Marion Oettinger, Jr rediscovers a visually stunning book depicting in words and photographs the finest collection of Mexican folk art in the U.S. Folk Treasures of Mexico: The Nelson A. Rockefeller Collection is a must-read for anyone interested in Latin American art, culture, and history.

We think that both these works would be of a great interest to this group. Hope you enjoy them.

Mark McGinty | 1 comments Seventh Avenue Productions has just released "The Cigar Maker."

The story of a Cuban cigar maker who battles labor strife and vigilante violence in 1900's Tampa, Florida. Ok, I am the author. Both my great-grandfathers on my mothers side were Cuban cigar makers. This is based on their story. I hope you will give it a look. Thanks!

Best wishes,
