I drove past the used bookstore twice without stopping so far this month. Then, I went on Amazon and bought a few. I just can't help myself.
I'm kind of fortunate and unfortunate in the same breath. The nearest used book stores for me are in the city, none in the suburbs that I know of. But there are plenty of local public libraries with used books for sale, and I can resist dropping in to see those when I'm in the neighborhoods.

I'll probably end up making up for the drive by tomorrow.

Being a guy, I don't have a purse to keep a book in, but as far back as I can remember I've always been sure to take a book with me where ever I go in case I have some free time to read. My friends and family actually worry if they don't see me with a book in hand, no matter where I'm at. :-)

Me too, I can't go to the bookshop and leave without anything. Sometimes I need to struggle hard to achieve it - for very simple reason :s - but most of the cases I don't leave the shop empty handed. I love to search through books, pick up one, read a couple of first pages and decide if I like it or not. I love to see the piles of books waiting there to be read. How could I let them down?Q? :p
And a book in my bag is an absolute must. One never knows when will have some free time to read :D

My TBR pile is well over 1400 now....including many but not all of my ebooks.

I wouldn't mind buying 8 or even more books a day. I always find something that's of interest to me. The problem is that I don't - unfortuantely - read fast enough and it's expensive to buy so many books ... so every once a while one needs to work as well hehhehehehee.
I have just started to wonder that maybe in US books are not that expensive as in Europe. Maybe I should try to organise a trip to States for a very particular purpose, hoping that I wouldn't be stopped for smuggling or something :s

Does it mean that you actually have all those books?

OMG, I'm thrilled to meet y'all!!! My name's Melanie, 22 y.o., and I live in Switzerland, where buying english books is ridiculously expensive! I used to stock up on books when I'd visit the US three times a year (my mom's from NM) and haul back a whole extra suitcase (not to mention my carry-on!) of books... I have over 4000 books in my room, and the same amount on my Kindle:-)
In the past two weeks I just ordered over 180 books off bookdepository (an amazing online bookstore, with no delivery costs and US prices!), which brings my current total of books bought this year to over 600 (since Jan 1st).. Last week, I bougth 106 books at once:-)!!
I now have a huge bookshelf with only TBR books on it, and am on my 34th book since May 1st:-) (I read quickly, which is why I allow myself to buy so many, lol)..
And as for walking into bookstores, I'm the same, I can't leave without minimum one book (which, seeing the swiss prices on english books, is one of the reasons I've stopped walking into them here, lol)
Drives all my friends/family and boyfriend crazy!!
Anyhow, it's great to meet all of you!!

www.bookdepository.co.uk :-) enjoy:-)
Happy buying
