Stacy-Deanne Stacy-Deanne (wwwgoodreadscomstacydeanne) For me that would be Family Guy and RuPaul's Drag Race. I am a HUGE Family Guy fan and us FG fans get a lot of smack from the more conservative, politically correct crowds because the show has always been "ahem", controversial. As if we care. But FG is my favorite show. I tape every episode off Cartoon Network's Adult Swim. Love it.

RuPaul Drag Race is another one of my guilty pleasures. I know a lot of people who watch it but are afraid to admit it. I don't know why, it's just a show. I guess men who watch it are scared folks will think they are gay if they say they like the show. Isn't that silly? Yep, love this show.

I also love Ax Men on History. People talk down about this show but I like it. I get some strange looks when I say it's one of my favorite shows, LOL! I guess some folks think a black chick wouldn't like a show about lumberjacks?

That's ignorance though.

So right now, these are my three favorite shows. I love Family Guy and for anyone who watches the show, Stewie is my favorite character. He's so deliciously demented, LOL!

Best Wishes!

I enjoy The Houswives of OC and NY..something is wrong with those ladies..well maybe not Bethany lol
My husband introduced me to Family Guy and American Dad..sometimes they annoy me but other times it's funny
Archer is another one

Will think of some others

Stacy-Deanne Stacy-Deanne (wwwgoodreadscomstacydeanne) Nobody else is watching RuPaul's Drag Race on Logo? Ladies check it out if not, it's hilarious. Those men are certainly like women the way they complain and fuss, LOL! They fuss and gossip more than we do. They talk about each other behind the other's backs, even when it's someone who is supposed to be their friend. LOL! Be backstabbing like crazy. Plus it's amazing to see the guys transform into women. I love watching the runway segments because the queens are so beautiful when they come down for final judging. Nothing's more exciting then wondering who RuPaul's gonna cut! It's a heck of a show, LOL!

Stacy-Deanne Stacy-Deanne (wwwgoodreadscomstacydeanne) Since Eugenia brought you the Discovery Channel, my favorite show of all time (and I can't believe I forgot to mention it!) is Dirty Jobs! That's my favorite reality show hands down. I was never into Deadliest Catch. I couldn't get into it. I think it was being shown too much and I got tired of it, LOL! I think that's what ruined it for me. I like Lobstermen though. Is that still on? I hate Mythbusters! I loved Survivorman and can't believe Discovery cancelled that show! They should have cancelled Mythbusters, I hate it! I also love Bear Grizzles (sp), anyway whoever watches Discovery knows what I'm speaking of. LOL! He'll eat anything. You gotta have an iron stomach to watch him and Mike Rowe!

Best Wishes!

Most of the time when I do get around to watching TV its usually Discovery or the Animal Channel. I love TruTV too. I was obsessed with shows like Forensic Files and Snapped. I loved it because of the fascinating science behind solving a crime, but I had to stop watching because I was becoming a little paranoid wondering if my husband or children were going to kill me! Crazy! lol

I LOVED Survivor Man and like you I was shocked when they cancelled the show. As far as I know ratings were fair and it had a dedicated following amongst viewers. Sometimes I don't know what these networks are thinking.

Now, I like Black Gold. My hubby is an oil man so its always fascinating to see/learn about what he does, although he hasn't been in the field much since he started up his consultancy.

I love Dirty Jobs. I especially love when he does the animal husbandry jobs. I can't believe they canceled Survivorman.

I love watching the Ghost hunting shows (pretty much all of them, although Extreme Paranormal is so unprofessional it's like watching
The Three Stooges.) I think they're fascinating! I'm an armchair paranormal investigator. My mother and I like to discuss them.

Stacy-Deanne Stacy-Deanne (wwwgoodreadscomstacydeanne) Yeah I can't believe Discovery cancelled Survivorman!

Eugenia, Bear is very handsome BUT he is gross, LOL! Did you see that show when he drank his own pee? Ewwwwwww! After that, nothing he eats or drinks shocks me. I remember one time he was in the woods and he drank the water from camel dung for hydration! Ewwwwww!

Danielle,

Did you see the Dirty Jobs episode when Mike went to the dairy farm and had to birth a calve? I had no idea that's how they do it. They pull the baby out by the hooves. The mama just spits it out and keeps walking, LOL!

Another one of my favorite shows is Kitchen Nightmares. I know some people think Gordon's a mean butthead but I agree with his advice because some of those restaurants are horrible! Plus, Gordon's a cutie too. I love British men!

Stacy-Deanne Stacy-Deanne (wwwgoodreadscomstacydeanne) Hi Davina,

I loved the Animal Planet but they seem to be slipping to me now. I don't like a lot of these new shows. I liked Upclose and Untouched (or whatever), LOL! That show when they showed the folks getting attacked by animals in real life.

I like Victoria Stillwell's show, some of those pets are ridiculous and the owners are worse, LOL!

My favorite AP show was Groomer Has It though! They claim they are going to bring it back later but I don't know if they will. I hope so! I loved watching the dog grooming!

Did you watch the Puppy Bowl this year? LOL!

Stacy-Deanne Stacy-Deanne (wwwgoodreadscomstacydeanne) Any of you Watch NatGeo? I was last season but got sick of all those prison shows they brought on. I enjoyed Locked Up Abroad, but I think it's been cancelled. I've recently started watching Taboo. Anyone else watching National Geographic these days? I haven't much lately because they took off the shows I liked.

That's my main complaint about reality shows, you can't keep up with the schedules and you can't tell what's coming back and what's been cancelled.

Danielle,

I wouldn't kiss Bear EVER if he was my husband! LOL! I'm sorry, he probably caught things he doesn't even know he got! About the cows, did you know, and I know it's gross, they eat the afterbirth and all? One cow started eating hers and Mike said "Eww she's eating it!" Elise-Pinterest+Goodreads=The Perfect Book Boyfriend (eliselovesshinyandnew) | 56 comments OK, as usual, I am late weighing on the conversation, however, my secret shame shows are (closing my eyes and hanging my head).....Steven Seagall, Lawman. I know, he is cheesy enough in the movies, but it gets worse in his own reality show. But, I am drawn to it enough to DVR it (and it deny it's me...darn kids messing with the TV again!!). Also, and this is really really sad, the Preview Channel. I don't know why that scrolling channel guide sucks me in, but it does. Must be the ADD. I can't help it, but I love RuPaul's Drag Race too. I am from NY and we have a restaurant called Lucky Cheng's where there are nothing but drag queens and though I am tolerant, I was totally freaked out 'cause this drag queen was rubbing his crotch in this 65 year old woman's face at dinner ( They have a drag show during dinner. So when this show came up I was a little apprehensive. But this show has truly opened up my eyes to the art of drag and it is art. I cannot put makeup on like that. They look awesome. Plus the cattiness drags me in every time.

Other shows I am embarrased to admit I like are Keeping up with The Kardashians and Let's Talk About Pep.

I did love Flavor of Love and I love New York too... smh

Stacy-Deanne Stacy-Deanne (wwwgoodreadscomstacydeanne) Hi San,

Lawman, BAAHAAAAA! Yeah that show is uh...something else. My dad's a HUGE Segall fan so he watches it without shame, LOL! He's seen all of Segall's movies, etc so if the man was on Dancing With the Stars my dad would probably watch him, LOL!

I figure if Steven isn't holding his head down in shame, you shouldn't, LOL! He's the one who should be embarrassed.

Poor Steven. He used to be one of the biggest action stars in the world but completely fell off. He made some great flicks back in the day though. I think when he gained all that weight and couldn't do the stunts anymore is why he couldn't get mainstream roles anymore. He's been making B movies for the last ten years anyway. He had a lot of failures at the box office too and that can hurt anyone.

He should have stayed in shape like Stallone. That's my favorite action hero!

Best Wishes!

I have nothing but love for Steve. I did know that too about him being a cop all these years in Lousiana. He rocked back in the day. Hey watch what you say about, Sly! I'll cut you, LOL! No, I feel you. Hey I love Sly to death but I agree it's enough with the Rockys and Rambos! Do you know he's made another Rambo? It'll be out this year AND he's making another Rocky (yes he is), after saying "Rocky Balboa" would be the last. He needs to give it up but I love him, LOL.

Danielle, Is Bear even married? I'm not sure but if he is, she must be brave or either as gross as he is, LOL!

I watch the Real Housewives of OC. I'm not ashamed to admit that I watch it.

I think the ladies are immature, very catty and aren't true friends. They use the word friends so lightly.

Vicki makes people that Jenn wasn't a good friend to her. Yet, she turned to Jenn, when the other ladies were coming down on her for her behavior last week.

I'm glad that Jenn left the show. She had a moments, but at least she decided to leave the drama. She's making cameos.

The women are fake.

I wouldn't want non of them calling me their friend.

This was the first housewives show that I've watched.

I don't watch the New York version. As for the Atlanta version. I have watched a few episodes, but those ladies are fake as well. I rather watch the OC version over them.

Where does all these women on all these shows find themselves? I wonder if they are truly in a circle or this is only for the cameras.

I think they need to stop making reality TV. The craziness is taking over TV. After a while, there will not be any good programs on to watch.

They might start making reality cartoons. Wow and I don't even have children yet. If that ever happens. My children will watch the cartoons that I've grown up on. I'll buy the series.

I'm not that fond of the concept of reality shows. But lately, I seem to get sucked into them. It's like peeking at a wreck on the side of the road, I think.

message 38: by Stacy-Deanne (last edited Mar 02, 2010 10:39PM) (new)

Stacy-Deanne Stacy-Deanne (wwwgoodreadscomstacydeanne) Don't feel bad, Danielle. I used to hate them. I still hate most of them. Some are too silly and ridiculous for me to watch. But with 95% of programming being reality shows now, I am sure everyone is watching at least one of them. You simply can't get away from them and now there's so many out there to fit different people's tastes.

I like the ones that focus on the lives of real people like Ruby. I like the reality shows that are not only entertaining but educational. I can't stand the ones where dating is involved. I've never watched shows like The Bachelor, Flavor of Love, The Cougar or any other show involving hook-ups. I just don't like those types and they come off as sleazy. I don't like the idea of a bunch of men or a bunch of women degrading themselves to get the attention of someone for empty affection. Please. It's like prostitution to me. It just has that "sleazy" ring to it.

I think that's why these dating reality shows don't last. How many seasons can you have where folks hook up with somebody? It gets boring. There have been so many of those I can't count.

Ten years ago folks said reality shows wouldn't last. I was one of them that hoped that was correct, but I guess they are here to stay for now. Also, networks are too cheap to pay real stars money so they put on reality shows and they know they capture a fast audience.

I just saw the CW advertise another new one, The High Life. It's about high society women. (Yawn), LOL!

Eugenia you're right some aren't bad and like I said, I enjoy a lot of them but some I wouldn't watch if you paid me, LOL!

Best Wishes!

I don't like the dating shows either. I find it to be quite nasty. Why does a man have to be with 20 women, kiss on different ones, get in a hot tub with them, to decide who he wants to be with. The same things goes for the women with picking a man.

That's lust!

I wouldn't want a man to determine if I am the right one, by trying me out like I am a pair of shoes. And what's sad, a lot of the contestant already be married of have a boyfriend already. If they are men, they have a girlfriend already.

Tina | 1362 comments Eugenia wrote: "Stacy Deanne, the scripted reality drama because nothing about that stuff is reality. The dating show is not to find love, it's find 15 minutes of fame and get paid for being on a show. You notice ..."

That is so true Eugenia. Not only that, but a lot of these people know that if you are on a reality show these days you begin to be treated like a at least C list celebrity. Bachelor & Bachelorette rejects get are accepted as the 'Stars' on Dancing with The Stars and they get their own candid reality shows. If they have 'Personality' or are a break-out character they foster a relationship with the network and get invited to do other shows where they actually do make money. For some of these people this is their version of a job.

OTOH, if they do think they are going to find Mr or Ms. right on these shows they still do it with $$ in their eyes. The network underwrote the entire wedding costs of Trista and Ryan from her Bachelorette season. She also got a lot of money in sponsorship deals. So not only did she get an extravagant, televised wedding, it was completely paid for and she ended up with a couple of million dollars to boot. Now, by all accounts Trista and Ryan are a very happy couple with two kids. But with that as an example, I can imagine that some women truly are going in there planning their own extravagant weddings.
