The Legend of the Seahawk by Adele Clagget, is also set in CT.

I hope to get to them soon. (P.S. Hi to Linda from a fellow Orange resident!)

Linda | 38 comments I'm planning to read an oldie by Mark Twain this month for a f2f discussion next month. It's CT Yankee in King Arthur's Court. Can't believe I never read it. If you've never visited his home in Hartford, don't miss it. OT - the library in Orange is presenting Richard Clark as 'Atticus' on 3/30. He's always a sellout. Linda S./Orange

message 24: by Loucindy (new)

Loucindy | 5 comments Villages by John Updike is set in a fictional CT town. Growing Up in Absurd Suburbia is a memoir about growing up in CT. (Although neither of those books really mentions CT all that often.)

Someone told me that there was once a novel set in East Hampton, CT (but "thinly veiled" under another perhaps invented town name). I've never had any luck finding it though.

First book Cadmium Yellow, Blood Red (http://www.amazon.com/Cadmium-Yellow-...) describes Hartford 1949 and some scenes occur in Wadsworth Atheneum. Second book, Speak Out Before you Die - New Year's Eve 1949-1950, snowbound Hartford mansion. (http://www.amazon.com/Speak-Before-Do...)

message 35: by Sandra (new)

Sandra Barron | 7 comments Hi all. I am a Connecticut author, and my novels feature Connecticut as a bridge to other countries. My first novel, The Heiress of Water, is set in Milford CT and Central America. My second novel, Stay With Me, is set in Branford's Thimble Islands and the Caribbean. Both are published by HarperCollins. The Heiress of Water won the International Latino Book Award and Stay with Me was a finalist for the 2011 Connecticut Book Award. I am now working on a book set in Middletown and France.

message 37: by Jedah (new)

Jedah Mayberry (jmberry) | 9 comments I'm a bit late to the conversation, but I got here as soon as I could. The Unheralded King of Preston Plains Middle is set in the same sliver of the southeastern part of the state that birthed Wally Lamb's This Much I Know is True, projected some 30-40 years closer to the present. I drew tremendous inspiration seeing the place where I grew up put on the page by Wally Lamb. I sought with KoPPM to give my own take on the place.

message 38: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Skeens (seeshelle) | 1 comments It's not specifically set in CT, but they travel and stop in Waterbury, CT and mention Hartford, CT. Pandemonium (Delirium, #2) by Lauren Oliver
