ABANDONED. girl runs away from foster care and ends up on the west coast?

she's a foster child and her mother died of an overdose and on her adventure across the country she meets different people and rides on a train all the way to the west coast. She gets to LA and it's really hot and she finds it hard to sleep. Then she gets upstate california I believe in a farm where she meets a nice family who wants to keep her. after than she runs away because she found out they called somebody and moves around and ends up with a woman and the woman ends up keeping her. The woman also has a daughter who's the main character of the series I believe. it's apart of a series a christian one i believe, i'm not sure though.
