Alicia (spaz01) | 2 comments Okay so it seems to me there is no consistancey between spells that are spoken and unspoken. It seems the teachers never say spells they just wave ther wand and it is the same with dueling in the 7th book, so is there logic behind it or just when the author felt like it?

Adeel All verbal spells can be performed without speaking (except the unforgivable curses), but that requires greater skill. The author used them to show that either the spell is very easy, or that the wizard is very skilled (or at least skilled enough to perform it).
