Well, I just finished this one (speed-reading it on Barnes and Noble's e-reader via laptop) b/c my friend invited me to her bookclub meeting. I enjoyed the story. In the beginning, the dialect distracted me. I did skim parts but thought the character development was wonderful. Everyone knows a Hilly (and the minions who follow . . .). Some of us have an inner Minny or wish we had one. Themes evolved through the use of VERY creative details (the pie -- revenge! The hair-smoothing torture device - the extent to which we pursue shallow endeavors like appearances despite a depth of character which actuall defines us . . .). Nice read!
