I just realised that 'Sally Farrell Odgers' was a Goodreads author under the name of 'Sally Odgers' and tried to merge all the 'Sally Farrell Odgers' books into the 'Sally Odgers' (even though normally I'd do it the other way - obviously she wants 'Sally Odgers').
Anyway, it seems that because 'Sally Odgers' is a Goodreads author I can't do this. The message says that because she's on Goodreads she's therefore responsible for her own user management. Too true if I was trying to change her blurb or whatever.. but I'm trying to merge books en-masse into her profile so I can combine them easily. I'm fairly sure she's not a Goodreads librarian and therefore won't be doing it herself.
Anyway, there's 60 or so books under the 'Sally Farrell Odgers' name. They can be altered one by one in the book edit screen. If anyone wants to help/do it then that would be great.
But as for policy, I'm sure there needs to be a rework on this one. Maybe when a librarian tries to do this it gets sent to the author for approval? Then all the author has to do is press one button to agree it's an okay merge. Just a thought.
