The little boy has a little Brontosaurus about the kid's size but just big enough that he can ride on it's back. One scene I remember what that the Brontosaurus had to wipe all 4 of his feet on the door mat before the Mom would let him in the house. I read this book as a child, so, it would have been published before 1995. I am thinking 1980-1995 maybe. Thanks!
