Do you find irony in the fact that Alice, a Harvard professor and researcher, suffers from a disease that causes her brain to atrophy?

No, not really. Alzheimer's strikes young or old, Harvard professor and researcher or ? It was sad that Alice, a Harvard professor and researcher, developed Alzheimer's disease but not shocking.
