Good. The Phantom Tollbooth is the most fantastic kids book ever written.

i'm still too BOOMed out from the first BOOM! but you know i agree wholeheartedly
Twilight?
Are you serious? I love that series.
Yes, i wont freely admit it anymore, because of Rob and Taylor and a certain bad film (s), but remembering just the books, and imagining my OWN characters, before it was huge, YES, its a great series.
I dont have a worst book.

you don't understand it when someone agrees with you? I won't do it again then.

BOO..."
Well I've never hear BOOM followed by somebodies name before. And I'm used to BOOM being used right after a burn, so I was lost.
But you know, I don't think anybody actually likes Ulysses.
The Hatchet by Gary Paulsen. ugh. *shudders and makes fake vomit noices*

Yeah I think that series should have just been one book.

I say BOOM when I'm happy or when I agree...

if you ignore that he is pushing athieism on to kids then i guess it could be considered good, but considering the that is most of the series, it is one of the worst.

RAE HAS MOXY!
I dont use BOOM!
But people in my class at school do after saying something powerful that 'shuts down' the other persons argument.

woot!!!! i feel so special now cause i have moxy! :D

am I the only one who hates the Hatchet?

I can never call one of the books I've read the "worst books of all time." There have been some I haven't liked, obviously, but I can't pinpoint a single book as being the most horrible. Everyone has different tastes of course - I've just started Wuthering Heights and I really like it so far and I remember loving the Phantom Tollbooth (though I don't remember the story now). And His Dark Materials, along with Harry Potter and LotR is at the top of my list of favorite books/series. I understand some people don't have to agree with views presented in His Dark Materials and they certainly don't have to like the books, but I also don't think the books should be condemned for having a point of view, since I consider it important to be open-minded. I'm an atheist, by the way, but I don't mean to start a debate - I just think it's important to respect others' views (I am not implying that anyone has to like certain books.)

one book series on my worst-books-ever list is the chronicles of narnia.

i agree!
I think the author should have just stopped at City of Ember. I thought that one was really good.
