Rachel (aka. Kaiserin Sisi) (looney-lovegood) | 592 comments Twilight's not my favorite book, but I don't think it's bad enough to earn the honor of "Worst Book of All Time". XD

Baxter (julietrocksmysocks) | 383 comments Ulysses. I respect it, and think it has great concepts in it, but it is the most unbearable book ever written.

Jordan (flyinglogicmonkey) | 2426 comments I loved The Phantom Tollbooth. Once you're old enough to understand the references, it's extra awesome.

Twilight?
Are you serious? I love that series.
Yes, i wont freely admit it anymore, because of Rob and Taylor and a certain bad film (s), but remembering just the books, and imagining my OWN characters, before it was huge, YES, its a great series.

I dont have a worst book.

CrestFallen . | 131 comments I really don't like 'lord of the flies.' It isn't the worst book, it was just boring.

Well I've never hear BOOM followed by somebodies name before. And I'm used to BOOM being used right after a burn, so I was lost.

But you know, I don't think anybody actually likes Ulysses.

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments His Dark Materials.

if you ignore that he is pushing athieism on to kids then i guess it could be considered good, but considering the that is most of the series, it is one of the worst.

Amelia, free market Puritan (aeimaginer12) Yay RAE! I was thinking that in my head but didn't have the moxy to actually write it down :P

RAE HAS MOXY!

I dont use BOOM!
But people in my class at school do after saying something powerful that 'shuts down' the other persons argument.

Molly (daleksinwonderland) | 235 comments I LOVE Wuthering Heights! But it does take a while to read...
I hate the book Swordbird.

message 35: by Julianne (last edited Feb 20, 2010 08:03AM) (new)

Julianne (jrvastbinder) Hmm, that's a tough one since if a book is really bad to me, I just stop reading it all together. And unfortuneatly, I've done that with a LOT of books. :-P

message 36: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments i loved Pride and Prejudice, but it took me a while to get through (3 weeks!)

message 37: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments NNOOOOOOOOOO! not P&P&Z!!!!!!!!

message 38: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments no, but why did they have to write it? it's an insult to the original.

message 39: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments the original was amazing, but it may take you a wihle to get through :D just a warning. i generally read fairly quickly but it took me almost 3 weeks to read. (and i didn't read any other books while i was reading P&P)

message 40: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments lolz. and then im most likely going to reread it a couple of times before i am required to in HS

message 41: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments i LOVE rereading books! i catch things i missed and then its good to brush up on what happened

message 42: by Pandy (new)

Pandy | 185 comments I love rereading, though some of my friends find it inconceivable. There are some books where I never tire of the story of characters.

I can never call one of the books I've read the "worst books of all time." There have been some I haven't liked, obviously, but I can't pinpoint a single book as being the most horrible. Everyone has different tastes of course - I've just started Wuthering Heights and I really like it so far and I remember loving the Phantom Tollbooth (though I don't remember the story now). And His Dark Materials, along with Harry Potter and LotR is at the top of my list of favorite books/series. I understand some people don't have to agree with views presented in His Dark Materials and they certainly don't have to like the books, but I also don't think the books should be condemned for having a point of view, since I consider it important to be open-minded. I'm an atheist, by the way, but I don't mean to start a debate - I just think it's important to respect others' views (I am not implying that anyone has to like certain books.)

message 43: by Pandy (new)

Pandy | 185 comments Yes - I didn't mean to just address the books, although I know religious people who like them. I just think it is wrong to condemn atheism as "evil" (and I've heard it called "devil worship") when this is not true.

message 44: by Diana (last edited Feb 20, 2010 12:55PM) (new)

Diana i didn't really like diamond of darkhold either. the other books in the series were better.
one book series on my worst-books-ever list is the chronicles of narnia.

message 45: by Molly (new)

Molly (daleksinwonderland) | 235 comments I hated the City of Ember series. I read 2 and 1/2. But the movie was actually pretty good.

Amelia, free market Puritan (aeimaginer12) I've heard so many people say things about CITY OF EMBER... is it just a boring series?

message 47: by Diana (new)

Diana Amber wrote: "No. The City of Ember was really good. City of Sparks dragged on but was okay, and the Prophet of Yonwood was marvolous! Diamond of Darkhold, however, wasn't. -.-"

i agree!

message 48: by [deleted user] (new)

I think the author should have just stopped at City of Ember. I thought that one was really good.

message 49: by Pandy (new)

Pandy | 185 comments I haven't read those? Are they fantasy?

message 50: by Molly (new)

Molly (daleksinwonderland) | 235 comments The first one was alright, but the second and third books were boring. I didn't read the fourth.
