Emily So, before I start, let me say that this is my all-time favorite series. I love them, in some cases quite literally, to death.

That said, I do think that 8 books is a lot, and there are only so many adventures Jacky can have. I'm wondering is
a)anyone thinks this will be the last book
or
b)if anyone else is hoping deep down inside if she will just hurry up and marry Jaimy. I mean, really, it's kind of annoying having one book after another, all with the same main plot--marry Jaimy. Really.

So, don't post things like "how can you say that!!!!!! I love BJ with all my heart/soul/mind/body/etc. You aren't a true fan/lover/whatever.
That's not the intent of this post!

Hannah | 21 comments I totally agree. This series is awesome, but what else could possibly happen to Jacky? I mean, she's been nearly killed about 50 different times and ways, plus everything else that has happened to her. If this isn't the last book, it's got to be the 9th one.
Hopefully, Jacky and Jaimy will FINALLY get married soon. I don't know if i can take waiting for a marriage any longer!

message 3: by Allison (new)

Allison (alanacooper) | 25 comments but don't you agree that Meyer has a knack to turn our worlds upside down? for all we know he could totally kill off Jaimy and make Jacky wallow in self pity for a whole book.... but that wouldn't really resolve anything so screw that. Idk maybe she'll get lost at sea, or horrors hanged. There are a lot of good books that end w/ the protagonists death, so that has to be a possibility. But then Meyer would have a lot of angry fans after him so then again maybe not.

message 4: by Klehmenteen (new)

Klehmenteen (kanni) | 4 comments I definitely think that the series is winding down. Jacky has been through everything. Fought the British Navy more times than humanly possible, and failed to marry Jaimy eight hundred times.
It's getting old. The books are amusing, but imagine how startled and amazed we would be if they actually ended!

Caitlín K (inkmage) | 33 comments Mod
Actually, I kind of agree with Klehmenteen. Rapture of Deep especially repeated situations and events that felt like they'd already happened.

message 6: by Allison (new)

Allison (alanacooper) | 25 comments well it makes sense, i mean how many times can you repeat the same type of story line and keep it new? i'd bet Meyer;s getting tired too if Rapture was a rerun. Like how old is he now? 50 60?

message 7: by Sarah Beth (new)

Sarah Beth (themaidofastolat) | 28 comments As much as I love the novels it's time for them to end.

message 8: by Rachel (new)

Rachel (rachelcully) I love these books too, and i agree with the fact that jacky and jamie have been running after each other for far too long. And as much as it would sadden me to know there would be no more, i think ending the series might be a wise decision. But if #8 was going to be the end don't you think they might advertise that?
well either way i think that jacky and jamie should just runaway and get hitched. But if Meyers wants to make one book, just one book thats all im asking, where jacky and jamie are TOGETHER pirating the atlantic or something on their own ship that would be nice too.

message 9: by Lydia (new)

Lydia Hall (lydiahall) | 10 comments Meyers should write different series that have to do with Jacky's world and have Jacky in them, but aren't mainly about her.

message 10: by Kristen (new)

Kristen Hair | 21 comments I second that notion, Lydia.

message 11: by Emily (new)

Emily (l4dyl3n0r3) I (sorry, guys) don't want them to end. I really agree about Rapture though, ugh. And I think he will end the series when they get married, but I do like the idea of having a book of them together, that is an amazing idea! But Meyer says that he wants his last book to probably be named something along the lines of "She'll Play the Wild Rover No More" after the song the wild rover. And I think we would hear if it was the last book too.

message 12: by Redwallcrazy (new)

Redwallcrazy (redwallcrazybigkotfan) | 21 comments I want them to get married so bad, and then I want a book about them being married and their life then. And in the future, I want to read about their kids. Can you image a miniture Jacky?

message 13: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Hoffmann (amandavonhofmann) That does sound super cute! Redwallcrazy- I love Digger! wrote: "I want them to get married so bad, and then I want a book about them being married and their life then. And in the future, I want to read about their kids. Can you image a miniture Jacky?"

Redwallcrazy (redwallcrazybigkotfan) | 21 comments And a lot of trouble!

message 15: by Agnes (new)

Agnes | 1 comments Amanda -- Mini Jacky... That would be awesome.

I am reading the latest book, and am wondering if it is more of the same adventures. Sure enough. So now a "new" adventure in a different setting. Hoping for something bizarre to happen!

message 16: by Allison (new)

Allison (alanacooper) | 25 comments hhhhmm well I suppose we'll just have to wait and c yes? I'm wondering though, Is Meyer waiting for Jacky to turn 20 b4 he marries her off? or maybe he just has a whole stream of events he wants to throw in b4 the series is "officially" done.

message 17: by Redwallcrazy (new)

Redwallcrazy (redwallcrazybigkotfan) | 21 comments That's what most authors are waiting for. And who says that when Jacky marries Jaimy that that is the end of the series?

message 18: by Judith (new)

Judith | 2 comments Why must she marry?

She stated in first book and all the following books that she wanted to see the world and own her own shipping company. I think she should successfully do that plus defy and win against the British.

message 19: by Sentimentalkitty (new)

Sentimentalkitty Long | 1 comments I want Meyer to write a prequel, it would be so cool to read about some of the gang wars that Rooster Charlie's gang had. And I do not think that Jackie should marry for a couple more years, she enjoys her independence too much.

message 20: by Redwallcrazy (new)

Redwallcrazy (redwallcrazybigkotfan) | 21 comments Yay, I would like a prequel too, except then it would make me even more sad that Rooster Charlie dies. When he died in the first book, I stopped reading the book for like two months, I know I'm sad, but still...

I'm not sure Jacky should marry. I mean, she can still have adventures after she gets married, but she is such a free spirit!

message 22: by Redwallcrazy (new)

Redwallcrazy (redwallcrazybigkotfan) | 21 comments I don't think being married would harness her down any.

message 23: by Judith (new)

Judith | 2 comments Marriage is a harness in the early 1800s. Jacky would not be able to own and run her own shipping company if married. Remember, the male spouse is the property holder. Jamie is very much a product of that era and has trouble with Jackies adventures although he is better at dealing with them after his Mississippi adventures. Jamie is a "first love," one to cherish, learn from then move on. Life on the high seas offers her more fun and challenge than would marriage. Maybe in her late twenties she will be more interested in marrying.

message 24: by Redwallcrazy (new)

Redwallcrazy (redwallcrazybigkotfan) | 21 comments Eh, I don't a agree, but okay...

Trishia (mangalove) | 8 comments Sarah Beth wrote: "As much as I love the novels it's time for them to end."

BOOOOOOO they cant end!!!!!!!!

message 26: by Jacky (new)

Jacky Faber | 1 comments These books cannot end! They are my freaking life! I read the entire series in 2 months. But I do agree about the Rapture of the Deep. It was kinda boring.

message 27: by Kristen (new)

Kristen Harvey | 1 comments On one of the audiobooks there was an interview with the author and he said he's already written the final book, has had it forever, the title (I can't remember exactly what it was) will elude to her stopping her adventures. So, I think we have a while to go. :)

message 28: by Redwallcrazy (new)

Redwallcrazy (redwallcrazybigkotfan) | 21 comments At least he has the last book written so if anything was to ever happen to him, we would all know how it ended.

message 29: by Kaela23 (new)

Kaela23 | 11 comments I would be happy to read these books for ever and ever, but it is so annoying to wait such a long time for every new book. I really don't think Jaimy would take away Jackys shipping company, but he worries about her so he just might. I think they shoud be together whithout getting married. If the books ended I would have so much free time...

message 30: by Nieve (new)

Nieve | 6 comments At the end of the series, I can only hope that Jacky dies a heroic death. Or and least is

message 31: by Nieve (new)

Nieve | 6 comments Or at least is hanged or something. I just don't see much of a chance that she'll live to a ripe old age.
